Your lovely words moved my bitter soul
I can now see in a different, better way
To light the fading fire inside, you were my coal
Embers of mirth exploding, the longer you stay
No one had ever influenced me so much
As your kind and beautiful being did
Every day I yearn stronger for your touch
Hoping a 'farewell' I'll never have to bid
Those stubborn fights where I was utterly wrong
Never pushed you away, though distant we got
I realise your love for me is why you're so strong
A love like that, exactly what I had always sought
Forgive me, my dear
For I have a broken heart
In my mind, it is seared that
Quite like every other time,
We'll end up apart
It took me one year and more
Over five hundred wasted days
To recognize I was never a bore
I was your only love
In all the possible ways
Accept my awkward and pained soul
And I will learn to love you completely
So I can achieve my newly set life goal
A future of forever with just you and me
