The Discovery

*BEEP BEEP*

Your eyes start opening slowly not wanting to get out of bed.

*BEEP BEEP*

You sigh grabbing your alarm clock and chucking it against the wall so it stops making noise. You lay back into your pillows and close your eyes once again. However you hear someone opening your door, you open my eye slightly to see who it is.

"Time to wake up honey." There in your door way is your beautiful Altean Mother, Queen Allura. You were the only child your mother had left. Your older brother had died a few months ago from the Galra Army making you the oldest living child in your family.

"Ugh but mom I don't go to a school anymore why do i have to be up this early?" You asked tiredly.

Mother looked down at her hands worrisome, "Well... just meet me in the kitchen." Then she left your room.

This must me important, she always lets me sleep in. You thought. You hopped out of your bed and made your way to the kitchen.

When you entered you saw five unfamiliar figures standing next to our guard Coran. You quickly pull out your knife from your pocket and grab the brown haired one and put it to his neck. The brown haired figure looked you up and down, he seemed to be staring.

"Are you from outer space cause girl you are out of this world." Said the brown haired boy. This comment barely fazes you. He's pretty cocky for someone who's got a knife to their throat, he's got guts you admit.

"Who are you people and why are you here. If you don't answer my questions I will slit his throat." You say with determination looking towards the other figures. The nerdy girl and larger boy seemed slightly frightened.

"(Y/N) that is not how we treat guests." Mother says as she approaches you and takes away my knife.

"Guests?" You tilt your head?

"Yes guests (Y/N)." She walks over to the one you'd interrogated a few seconds ago. "This is-" She gets interrupted. "The name's Lance but you can call me-" "Lance, you can call him Lance" said the long black haired boy, he rolls his eyes. The boy known as Lance gives the black haired boy a dirty look, the boy ignores it, "I'm Keith." He shows out his hand you cautiously shake it. His hand feels soft and safe. "Names (Y/N)." You smile.

Keith introduces you to the ones known as Hunk, Shiro, and Pidge who seem a lot more peaceful than the Lance character.

"Now I think is a good time to ask how you all got here and why you're here." you ask once again but slightly more peacefully.

"Well we don't exactly know that ourselves. We went through some type of intergalactic portal and it brought us here." Said Shiro.

"(Y/N) can I talk to you really quickly." Mother asks. "Yes of course."

You walk towards her, "Are you thinking what i'm thinking?" She asks.

"Probably not but what are you thinking?" You ask.

"Do you remember the stories I told you about the legendary warrior Voltron?" Mother asked.

Your face lights up. "How could I forget about them. Voltron the ultimate savior of the galaxy. Voltron and their paladins of Justice."

"Well I believe that these as you call "visitors" could be the next paladins of Voltron. We currently have the black lion already how hard can it be to find the other four?", Allura says smiling hopefully.

You sit there with your jaw dropped. "You're joking right! These guys are in no way fit to be paladins!" You say a little louder than intended. Hunk looks over at me almost scared. Allura hits me on the back of the head

"(Y/N) you know that's not how we treat others. We have to at least give them a chance." Allura sighs. "We can't let Zarkon take over the universe, not after what happened to Altea I won't let it happen again."

You sigh with your head hung low. "Well if you put it that way, I guess I'll have to reconsider." Allura pulls you into a tight hug. "But under one condition, I get to help them train and sometimes go on missions with them." You say with hope in your voice.

Allura furrowed her brows, "(Y/N)... I can't lose you like your brother."

You grabbed Alluras hands, "And you won't lose me, I'm brave and strong just like you, I promise, you won't lose me," You say. You both nod then face the boys.

"So who wants to be a paladin?"
