Jessica was laying on her couch reading a book while petting her dog, Vitya. Her dog had a silver coat that was warm and fluffy to the touch. Vitya, who was only a year old woke up from his nap and looked at his beloved owner with curious and loving crystal blue eyes. Jessica looked back at Vitya and said "want to go outside boy?". Those crystal blue eyes shined brighter and had a playful glint sparkled in there. Jessica couldn't help but smile at her only companion. All she had was her beloved Vitya, in the big apartment all to themselves. Jessica was only 19 at the time, she had adopted Vitya at a nearby shelter when she was 18. Jessica only had Vitya as a companion and roommate because she lived alone. Why is such a young girl living all by herself you ask? Her parents were brutally murdered when she was only 12 years old. To tug more at her heart strings, it was her birthday the day she witnessed the murder of the only two people that she loved and cared for...she didn't have anyone's shoulder to cry on...she was an only child who didn't grow up with any older or younger siblings to simply bond with. The day she witnessed the horrifying scene that is forever etched into her mind, she realized that the world was simply just a cold place with cold hearted humans. After a couple of hours passed after the recent murder of her parents, their next door neighbor went to go check up on the family, and had brought a chocolate cake for Jessica as a present. Ms. Norcross knocked on the door several times to only be greeted with silence after every failed attempt. She remembered that Mrs. Rose, Jessica's mother, telling her that she was always welcomed and to unlock the door with the key under the welcome mat. After grabbing the key and unlocking the door, and placing the key at a nearby table she walked to the living room. When Ms. Norcross stepped into the living room, the cake fell and crumbled, while her sea green eyes went wide with horror and terror. In the middle of the white carpet were both of the bodies of Mrs. and Mr. Rose. Around their bodies were big pools of blood, staining the once white carpet. They had their deep blue eyes wide, lifeless, and empty. Next to them on their knees was Jessica, her eyes bloodshot red and her light blue eyes looking as colder as ever, they no longer held the sparkle of innocence that she once had. Jessica seemed to have been sobbing for a while but now all you could see was her staring right ahead, looking out into the distance while stroking her mother's midnight black hair, just as same as her own hair.
Their pale, lifeless, and void bodies had a deep and long gash at their necks. A couple of drops of blood still dripping and landing on the carpet from Mrs. Rose's neck. Ms. Norcross fell to her knees and muffled her sobs by placing her shaking hands over her mouth, while tear after tear rolled off her cheeks. Both of the bodies had stabbing wounds all over their chest, while their arms had deep gashes all over them that were still spilling deep red blood onto the carpet. In the middle of their forehead was a hole that clearly indicated that they were shot. Their hands seemed to also have gashes on them, while some fingers were barely hanging on by a mere piece of skin. Jessica was never the same girl after that horrifying experience.
