Reyna watched the clock. Seconds ticked by. She was paying no attention to the teacher but instead trying to zone out Keegan and his friends and wishing the class was over. Exactly 5 minutes and 25 seconds, Reyna thought. Suddenly something hit her and the world went black.
As Reyna woke up, she started to make out three figures. She concluded it was the nurse, Celeste and someone else Reyna couldn't make out. "She's waking up," the mysterious figure said. So it was a male. Reyna rubbed her head and spoke, "Um I'm fine. C...can I have some advil?" "Sure sweetie," the nurse responded and walked away. Celeste was next to speak. "Do you have anything to say for yourself, Keegan?" "Um yeah but can you leave me and Reyna alone?" Celeste rolled her eyes and reluctantly walked away.
"Um so Reyna I'm really sorry," Keegan said. "I owe you big time." Reyna sighed. "Why are you here?" Keegan was taken aback. "I...I thought I would apologize. You know, for knocking you out?" Reyna thought for a second before speaking, tears coming to her eyes. "Apologize? Or make fun of me with all of your stupid friends?" Keegan noticed the difference in Reyna's voice. "No," he spoke slowly. "A...Are you okay?" Reyna just shook her head, tears falling on her face. At that moment, Celeste rushed in and hugged Reyna. As she comforted her best friend, Celeste gave Keegan a dirty look. Look what you did, she mouthed.
