The Hogwarts Express

Virgils~ P.O.V

"C'mon Anxi get up get up." Rolling over I see my best friend Patton pratically jumping up and down. "All right all right. Gimme a couple minutes to get dressed at least." I walk over to the closet. Throwing on my usual black and purple clothes I start looking around for my hoodie. "PATTON!" I shout out in distress. He comes barging into my room immediatley. "What's wrong are you okay?" I shake my head slightly. "M..my hoodie it's not where I left it. It's stupid I know but you know I don't feel safe without it..." Patton pulls me into a comforting hug. "Hey Virgil it's okay don't worry we'll find it I promise we have ages before we even have to leave okay so we have time to find it." I feel myself slowly stop shaking. "Thanks Patton. Sorry I just can't go without it." I rubs circles into my back to help calm me down.

After about half an hour of searching we find it hidden under my old hoodie. "Sorry Pat should've looked there I guess." He shakes his head energetically. "Don't apologise I know you're nervous so it makes sense it'd slip your mind. Okay kiddo?" I laugh at the nickname. "Okay Pat. Wanna go downstairs. I think your mum might be waiting. Nodding we walk downstairs quickly with our trunks. "Virgil c'mere sweetie." Smiling at Patton as he waits at the door with his mum I enter the kitchen to see mine. "I'm so proud sweetie. I know your father would be too. It's just a shame he never got to see this day." I smile at her. "I know mum. And thank you for everything. I know it's probably confusing seen as you're a muggle. Wow that sounded rude I'm sorry you know I don't think it's a bad thing..." I was pulled into a hug to stop my rambling. "I know what you meant. Don't worry and hey it's new to you too right. But Virgil promise me something. Promise me no one will find out that you're an animagus okay? I know what you're like I don't want it to overwhelm you. So please I know your father taught you as a coping mechanism but please unless you're with Patton or on your own please please don't change okay? Besides it could cause a lot of trouble given your age and I don't knoe enough about that world to help." I nod my head. "I know mum I promise. Unless I'm alone or with Patton I won't transform. I swear." She smiles at me sweetly. I smile back and leave the kitchen. "Oh and Virgil? Try to have fun. I know it's new and scary but it'll be fun too I promise." I smile again and make my way to the door.

As we enter platform nine and three quarters I reach down and place my hand on my cat's cage. "Thank you for taking ne with you. I appreciate it. So does my mum. Do you mind if I ask one last favor?" Patton's mother shakes her head. "I know you two get along so seen as it'd just be my mum on her own could you... keep her from getting too lonely. If you're not too busy I mean. I just feel bad leaving her on her own." She smiles at me sweetly. "I don't mind. I was a good friend of you're father's so I'd love to keep your mother company. Besides you're right we do get along so I don't mind. Don't worry your aren't inconveniencing me at all." I smile weakly at her thankful she agreed. Me and Patton wave goodbye once more and get on the train. I ask the conductor if I can keep the cat with me and they allow it as long as she stays in my carriage. Walking into the nearest empty carriage I place her next to me. I want her near me as long as possible. Knowing she'll be on her own in a strange castle for a couple of hours unsettles me. Pat must've realised this cause he leans forward and places his hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry she'll be fine." I smile at him weakily and pull out my sketch book. I'm about to start when I hear the carriage door open. "Apologies for the intrusion. Do you mind if we sit down?" I nod my head without looking up from my sketch book so Patton knows it won't freak me out. "Not at all take a seat." I feel someone sit next to my cat and stand up to put her on the rack above me. "Ah thank you. You didn't have to do that." I hear a second voice say. I look over to see who it belongs to. A boy wearing a white outfit with splashes of red. Who looks as excited as Patton. "No it's okay. I mean she shouldn't have been there. There was always the possibility of someone sitting there so it's fine. I'll just get her down later when we get off."

Patton's P.O.V~

"I'm Patton by the way. So who are you guys?" I ask the three newcomers. "I'm Logan." Says the boy sat next to me. "I'm Thomas." Says the boy next to Logan. "And I'm Roman." I look across from me to see another energetic boy sat next to Virgil. "Say what house do you guys think you'll be sorted into?" He asks just as theatrically. "Me I'm thinking Gryffindor." He finishes. "Easy Ravenclaw." Says Logan. Roman looks over at me. "Hufflepuff." Me and Thomas say at the same time. "What about Sunshine over here. You didn't announce you're name." I see Virgil flinch slightly at him being dragged into the conversation. I then notice him tapping. Three taps. Not Virgil. "He's Anxiety. He doesn't know what house and it's stressing him out a bit. I'm sure he'd be really thankfull if we gave him a bit of time to calm down." "My apologies I didn't wish to upset him." I shook my head to reassure him that he did nothing wrong. I tap twice on the glass and Virgil looks up at me. He gives me a small smile before I point up to where his cat is. He smiles again before going to let her out. After opening the cage and getting out his cat he sits back down and allows her to sit on his shoulder. I notice he calms down almost immediatley. "Who is this little one?" Thomas asks. I go to answer when I see Virgil taking in a deep breath meaning he's going to try and answer. "Her name's Midnight. She's pretty well behaved and likes to sit on my head and shoulders." I start beaming at Virgil proud that he managed to talk to a stranger. "I'm.. I'm Virgil. By the way. My name isn't Anxiety. In case you couldn't tell. I just get nervous about meeting people and ask Patton to use that when I feel overwhelmed." I beam even more now. I'm so proud of him. "Why Anxiety though?" Logan asks. "Sorry it's weird I know. But I have anxiety I'm pretty much the emboidment of it at this point. So it became a joke between me and Pat but then I had to talk to more people so that started." Logan adjusts his glasses. "Ah." Virgil gets up. "You guys might wanna think about getting into your robes by the way. I think we'll be there soon. With that he leaves the carriage assuminly to get changed. Midnight just curls up in his seat.

He walks back in later in his robes and walks back over to his seat. "Oh come on girl. Don't do this too me you know I don't like moving you." He sighs and picks her up. She mews in protest but not much else as he places her on his head. Roman and Thomas leave next to get changed. I look over at Virgil he started drawing the view out the window. "So are you excited Logan?" I ask the boy next to me. "Yes. There are so many things I wish to learn. I take it you're excited aswell then Patton?" I nod my head. "Uhuh I can't wait." The carriage door opens again and Roman and Thomas walk back in. "You two need to go get ready the conductor said we'd be there in about a half hour." I nod and stand up to leave followed by Logan.

Roman's P.O.V~

I watch as Virgil slowly stands up so as not to disturb the kitten on his head. "How did you do that?" He looks down at me in confusion as if he didn't do anything. "Manage to stand up without disturbing her." I see Thomas nod his head across from me. "Oh that. I dunno. Do you wanna try?" I warily nod my head. "If it's alright with you." "You can try aswell if you'd like Thomas." He nods his head excited about the adorable kitten. He reaches up to his head and picks her up. I take off my hat and once she's on slowly try and stand up. She almost falls off a couple of times but I nearly do it. However I lose balance before properly standing up and fail. Virgil catches her before she falls. Holding her out to Thomas. "I don't wanna hurt the poor thing." "You won't don't worry. I let Patton do it all the time and I've always caught her so far." Thomas nods before sitting still as the cat was placed. He couldn't stand up as tall because he worried aboout the cat everytime she so much as wobbled. Virgil laughed and placed her back on his own head. He moved back next to his seat before picking up his sketch book and putting it away. He looks really cute with that Kitten playing with his hair.

Patton and Logan walk back in and I start to tell them about what they missed. I see Virgil go pink in embarresment at me and Thomas telling the story but it was a cool story and it was funny. Patton beamed at Virgil. Seemingly proud of him for trying to get along with complete strangers. After me and Thomas finish talking, one of the train conductors opens the door. "We'll be at the train station in about 5-10 minutes so make sure everything is away please." With that he was off leaving us 5 to talk about what we thought it was going to look like in person. I could hardly hold back my excitment and from the looks of it neither could Patton or Thomas. I'm glad I made three new friends. Because I know for a fact that Logan is going straight into Ravenclaw. If he doesn't I'll be offended for him. Because he is made for that house.
