Nicole's POV:
" Stop! It's the security!! " The guard that was chasing me, only because I tried stealing some food so I could survive, yelled but I couldn't care less. I ran even faster and they lost my trail but knowing I have a marker, they will find me soon enough. As I was running I saw a door and quickly got to it, pulling it open and felt relieved that it wasn't locked. The door leads into some suprisingly clean garage, and I slipped in it just in time before the guards ran in front of the door. I listened carefully 'till I couldn't hear them anymore and then realized I was holding my breath, and I let it out sighing a bit. Khm Khm. Someone coughed behind me and I immediatelly took my knife from my boot turning around. There stood a boy, not much older than me, about 17 or 18 years old looking at me through the dark. His dark blue eyes were looking straight into my green ones and I felt like he was looking right into my soul.
" What the hell are you doing in my garage? And put that knife down " He said with a beautiful voice. Wait, Nicole! You didn't even meet him don't think his voice is beautiful! I shook my head. " I was just running from some guards, then saw this door and came in. And the knife is staying " I said as I spinned the knife around my finger. " You have a marker too? " He pointed to my right cheek that has a yellow line just under my eye going all around it. " Yeah why would security chase me if i didn't? " I said with a voice full of sarcasm.
" Hey...can I spend the night here? I really don't know where else to go and.. ", I started uncomfortably, I really didn't want to spend the night in a house of some guy I didn't know. " Sure. You can have the couch. I am coming in a second ", He interrupted me and went somewhere. That was easier than I thought it would be.
He came back soon with some little white machine in his hands. He came closer and tried to press it on my cheek " Amm..what do you think you're doing? " I asked and twisted his arm but he got free and hugged me from behind blocking any movement I might try to make. " This thing will deactivate your marker. I'm not gonna kill you don't be afraid, relax ", He said and pressed it on my cheek. It hurt a little but that's nothing. I suffered a lot more in my beautiful life.
" There you go..and by the way, my name is Yusei. Yusei Fudo ", he said introducing himself and offering me a hand for a handshake right after. " Nicole Atlas. " I nodded, completely ignoring his hand and then sat on the couch. He seemed a bit suprised but quickly regained his composure, " Good night " he said and went to his room I guess, and I lied down covering myself with a blanket. Oh how I wish my life could just be normal-was the last thought that ran through my mind before I fell asleep.
