The Velociraptor was a vicious, albeit small, predator in the late Cretaceous. Living in the Gobi desert, it was about the size of a chicken and hunted dinosaurs like protoceratops. It had many predators, such as Oviraptor, Gigantoraptor, and Tarbosuarus, all which were much bigger than it, which meant that it had to be very careful about everything, from hunting to finding a safe place to nest. There is a very famous Fossil of a velociraptor biting a protoceratops while the protoceratops is biting the velociraptor. The velociraptor has been a popular icon for dinosaurs, appearing in games and movies such as Jurassic Park and Ark Survival Evolved.
