The Microraptor was a tiny, vicious creature. It is one of the few prehistoric animals to be known to have feathers. For a long time, Compsonsthus was thought to be the smallest dinosaur ever, until the discovery of Microraptor. This small animal was a carnivore and most likely preyed on anything smaller than itself. It's small arms had enough feathers on them to allow them to glide, meaning they were horrifying for its prey. Imagine being a small butterfly minding your own business, when this massive ball of feathers, claws and scales shrieks it's head off at you and jumps off a tree. Naturally you would assume it would fall and break its neck, which is why you're completely caught off guard when you see a dinosaur flying towards you. The Microraptor made its debut into pop culture in the video game Ark Survival Evovled.
