The moment that Jeff had arrived at the track he knew it would be a good race. He knew that through effort and work he would end up at the top.
Today would count, if he won this race he would automatically have more fans and sponsors. but, if he lost he would lose sponsors and fans, also he career would end.
There was a lot rested on his shoulder. Even though he knew of this trouble, he still was calm,not showing any fear.
When he went out for practice the track was nicely groomed and the jumps where perfect, he used his practice time to look at the track not see how fast he can go, like the others. at the end of practice when he got to his trailer his team owner came up to him and said "are u nuts,going out there and loly gaging, doing what ever you want, well if you think so than you'ed be better Off not riding"
"Why don't you calm down i'm just trying to know the track" Jeff replied
" We'll if you do that in the race you'll be lucky if your still on the team"
By this time Jeff was annoyed with bill ( the team owner).
In between the the practice and the race Jeff walked down and watched all the other riders practice, he paid attention to the fast riders and what lines they took, and where was there weak spot and there strong spot on the track.
By watching this Jeff will know how, where, and when to pass the other riders. doing this really helped Jeff in the race.
10 minutes before the race was Jeff was in his camper getting prepped, remembering where the lines and ruts where. even though this was only a qualifying race Jeff still wanted to be prepared.
Jeff came out of his camper to go to the gate, as walking to his bike, he could hear people cheering for him, and asking for his autograph.
At the gate Jeff was 10 gate pick, not that great but at-least not last.
