He's dead.
He's actually dead.
I feel vomit climb up my throat as I look down at the corpse of Steven. The smell of him is incredibly hideous, the blood smothered across his face, his eye practically flattened by Adam's savagely attacks, my stab wounds I made through his neck, his chest - they look like I was blinded when I penetrated his skin.
Adam seems extremely startled by his facial expression, staring down at me. He looks mortified by the sight.
"You- you- you killed him!" Adam stutters.
I stand up and stare down at the blood-coated blade, glimmering in the moonlight. I twist the blade around, glaring at the droplets dripping down onto the handle.
I then see Toboni on the floor, clutching hold of her stomach, groaning. I walk down to her and kneel down to her level. I shake her shoulder and say softly, "Are you okay?"
She nods and she takes around half a minute to get up onto her two feet, wobbles and then stabilises herself. Toboni nods.
I smile at her. "Good grief. I thought you could not get up to continue. Are you sure you're alright?"
She nods once more.
"Okay. We are so close to Brocklesby..." I tell them as we exit the tunnel, leaving Steven's body lying there.
We stop out of the exit and admire the view of the city. The sun is finally rising ahead of us, tinting the clouds orange with a mixture of a blue, purple and black, the stars slowly disappearing from the sky. I stand in between Adam and Toboni, staring out towards it.
I smile by thinking about my mum. She should be here.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Adam questions. "Let's go!"
Toboni and I beam at him gracefully and we walk alongside him down a path towards the city. The trees are gone, it's just grass, grass and more grass which leads up to extremely tall metal constructed buildings with glass panes on every floor, houses made of brick, some in different colours, some are just displayed as brick. Everything is just like New Elizabeth. Only more grand.
"Oh my God..." I whisper in awe. "This is it." I feel a tear dribble down my face with glory.
We continue walking towards Brocklesby and within a few steps, the atmosphere changes majorly.
I stare around me and everyone is in their homes, staring at us but especially me. I have no clue why but they are. Some seem antagonistic. Some seem fearful. Some shut their blinds and everything to keep away from us as if we're some kind of threat towards them.
Maybe it's my shirt-
After all, it's smothered in blood and dirt-
If that's it, then I don't blame them.
We constantly encounter buildings on each twist and turn but standing in the middle of the street - the centre - is a blonde haired woman with no glasses, holding a shotgun. She has a white coat with a blue dress, cropped at the knees with blue heels. She looks pretty startled.
"Lawrence."
I scowl at her. "You made Steven chase after us! YOU MADE HIM KILL WILLOW AND RUBEN!!!" I spit angrily at her.
She raises an eyebrow. "I did not actually. He did it out of his choice."
Adam stands by my side, grasps hold of my hand. "Why is everyone hiding away from us?"
Jeanine walks up to Adam and places a hand upon his cheekbone. "Because they know I am their monarch,"
Adam and Toboni freezes with fear.
"Yes. I am now the Queen of the Commonwealth. Of England. Of Central Elizabeth!"
"No..." I murmur underneath my breath. "NO!!!" I charge towards her but two unfamiliar wrists grasp hold of them, restraining me and within a few seconds, she narrows her eyes at me, smirking.
YOU FOOL.
Oh God.
She did this to me.
My head flings back as if someone punched my jaw upright, nose bleeding ferociously. My breathing is extremely heavy and how Adam looks down at me, it upsets me so much.
My head feels heavy but I manage to put it back in it's default position and I glare at her, gritting my teeth, eyebrows crossed than they have ever been before.
"You bitch..." I snarl at her but I get interrupted with a BANG! and a THUD!
I glance back to see Adam jolt, hands shaking, clutching his stomach. He removes his hands and they are coated with blood along with his hands.
"NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" I cry as he collapses.
"I'm sorry, Miss Holloway." Jeanine holds the shotgun, pointing at where Adam was before he collapsed.
A sickly feeling digs into my neck and I instantly black out but I can feel the two people dragging me away from the faint howls of Toboni.
