I blocked an attack from a Grimm. It snarled before I slashed it in half with my sword. I was participating in a trial to determine our teams, even though Ozpin already knew the outcome of mine.
I would be a team of one. All by myself.
And he was reluctantly okay with that.

"You're sure you want to do this?" He asked me in his office.
"Yes. I don't want to be on a team, and I can handle myself." I said.
He only stared at me. "I don't want to lose you."
I smiled. "I understand, Ozpin."
That was three years ago.

There was a sudden growl behind me, and I screamed. Everything around me seemed to slow as my Semblance activated.
Incredible speed.
Immediately running behind the Grimm, I struck it down. My Semblance stopped, and I relaxed. My weapon shifted, moving and changing back into its small, silver cylinder. I put it on its place on the right side of my belt. I sighed and started to quickly walk. My toasted toffee hair tied into a low and loose ponytail, the center of the white bow holding Beacon Academy's crest. I began to think about my friends I had made over the years, until one friend came to mind, face becoming clear.
I used my right hand to cover my mouth as my face turned red.

I wonder what he-

A large growl and sound of snapping branches snapped me away. I quickly turned around to find a Beowolf lunging itself through the air at me. Fear kicked in as a memory flashed across my mind, rendering me unable to move.
"Another one!" A weapon slashed at the Beowolf, disintegrating it. A boy with short black hair dropped down in front of me as I fell over. With their back to me, they wiped their forehead and sighed, unique chain scythe modeled weapon clinking to the ground. "Whoof... these guys are tiring." They glanced over their shoulder at me, deep brown eyes meeting mine. I felt my face heat up incredibly fast as I recognized them. He grinned and turned around, face smiling. "Hey! It's Natalia Kezzweld! What a pleasure to see you here in the trial." He extended his hand to me, making me blush more. He raised his eyebrows. "You're not falling for me, are you, Ms. Kezzweld?"
I blinked and shook my head. "N-no way! I just-"
"Yo, Oliver!" A voice yelled, and a boy with a long yellow braid poked his head through the bushes. "What's the hold up?"
The boy, Oliver, looked over at him. "Oh, uh..."
The boy looked to me and blinked. "Ohh," he grinned. "Is this the important Ms. Kezzweld you talk about?" He walked over to me.
I stared up at him. "Y... yes?"
Oliver sighed. "Yeah... this is her. Natalia, this is Terrence Rouge." He motioned to the blond boy.
Terrence grinned. "Nice to meet you."
"Terrence and I are partners now," Oliver explained, deep purple streaks present in his black hair.
I stared at them. "Oh... hello. Lucky you, Oliver."
He looked at me and gave a kind grin, heart fluttering. "Yeah. Guess I kinda am. Where's your partner?" He offered his hand.
I reached out and gently took it with my right. "I... don't have one," he pulled me up.
He blinked, chocolate eyes confused. "Really?"
I nodded, giving a nervous smile. "But... its okay."
He stared for a moment, biting his lip and thinking. "Okay," he replied, letting go of my hand. "Terrence, let's go!" He said loudly.
Terrence nodded, running into the bushes, baggy pale and tan clothes brushing the twigs.
Oliver ran after him, and I swore I saw a light blush on his tan cheeks.
Something made a sound, and I pulled out my Scroll.
I had recieved a message from Ozpin.

Come back. The students suceeded.
