Your dad came back from Siberia limping when he collapsed at the front of the tower. F.R.I.D.A.Y alerted you and pepper so you guys ran out front and gasped when you saw Tony bleeding profusely whilst muttering inaudibly. "Dad, dad please wake up,dad", you screamed trying to shake him awake. Pepper tried to keep calm while calling 9/11 and requesting an ambulance. The ambulance arrived quickly shaking you out of your reverie. You sat at the back with your dad while pepper stayed behind to bring Rhodes to the hospital. The doctors took your dad to the OR chattering about patching the hole in his chest. The emergency operation lasted for 2 hours until they were done and they brought him out keeping him in the intensive care unit. You stayed by his side the entire 2 weeks he was there. You managed to be brave when he almost flat lined. Luckily your dad was no quitter and he was up and about in no time. You guys moved him to the tower to keep a closer eye on him when lo and behold the almighty captain America *insert sarcasm here* came asking for forgiveness. Your dad forgave him because he had no self preservation obviously. The day Steve asked you out was the day you had the greatest satisfaction in telling him no.

As usual matyr Steve locked himself in his room because I rejected him ha. As usual Bucky tried to talk to me about hurting his best friend. I wonder how he would react if I told him I enjoyed hurting his best friend.

"Y/n, I need to talk to you",your dad called from his lab. You walked into his lab and took a seat when he asked why you rejected Steve even though previously you had a crush on him. "Dad, I couldn't go out with him not after what he did to you". "But I forgave him". "I'm not talking about you forgiving him dad,it's me". "How?" "Dad you don't get it huh?" "Dad, i saw you lying on the ground with a fucking hole in your chest,I stayed by your side in the hospital for 2 whole weeks, I saw you flatline once yet I never cried, I managed to stay brave for you and you are telling me to forgive captain fucking America?", you said your voice raising in volume until you went silent crying. "I still have nightmares about you dying and not being able to do anything about it." "I managed to stay brave for aunt pep and uncle Rhodes", you whispered. "I almost lost it when Steve came back but I didn't". "Baby girl, it's okay", your dad coaxed hugging you. "It will never be okay dad, I will never forgive Steve and frankly I don't think I want to". Unbeknownst to you both, Steve was listening by the lab door heartbroken. Your dad had forgiven Steve but you bet that he regretted it because of you. After talking with your dad about your nightmares you left his lab and saw Steve glued there obviously eavesdropping. "How much did you hear Steve?", you asked him. He replied,"Start to finish". "Is there a way I can make it up to you so you can forgive me?", Steve earnestly asked his baby blues hopeful. "I don't think you can make my dad and I whole Steve but I appreciate the effort because how people look at Bucky as the winter solider that's the way I look at you as the man who almost killed my dad",you told him wiping a tear from your cheek whilst standing on your tiptoes to kiss his cheek,your eyes soften and you told him that you fancied him until that point. With a sigh you went to your room and cried. He gulped in disappointment at himself. He nodded at your dad who shrugged and went into bucky's room.
