Sienna
So, I hope you've understood the rules and regulations of the company."
I nodded in agreement and the lady left, leaving me alone in my new office. I looked around the unfamiliar environment. I sighed in frustration.
"This is gonna be harder than I thought" I said to myself.
I ran my hand through my hair that I had recently put Hazel brown highlights at the tips of my black hair to change my look.
I paced around my office, forgetting to close the door behind me.
Here I was. An intern in CD Banks. Looking at my life, I was sure I was heading southwards. I had no idea where to start looking for Mason or to get used to this new 'under cover mission' I am in.
"Any problems Miss Adams?" A deep voice asked me.
Startled, I turned to see a set of olive green eyes gazing on me.
He was leaning on the frame of the door, the sleeves of his white shirt rolled up to his elbow. His brown hair was scruffy that made him quite attractive. Even under his shirt, his muscles we're perfectly outlined.
I simply got mesmerized by his eyes, the eyes-"Your eyes speak a different story."
Before I could defend myself, he instructed me to follow him to his office.
Without any protest, I followed.
We took an elevator to reach the floor of his office. I could feel the tension build and the silence amongst us did not make it any better."I'm sorry if I ask but do you by any chance know Mr Mason Dalton?" I inquired.
He made a sudden halt and turned around to face me.
"I am Mason Dalton."
*********Mason flipped a document as he quickly analysed it's content. He sat on the edge of his mahogany table, his feet crossed.
I stood some distance in front of him, nervously playing with my finger. It was times like this I made a silent prayer. A prayer that he didn't find who I was.
I looked around his office. It was a large room with refined decor. It had an amazing view of the Manhattan streets. The grey painted walls complemented the black carpeted floor and the dark furniture. A large portrait of whom I assumed to be his father hanged on the right corner of the room.
"Melissa Adams"
I turned my gaze into Mason, who seemed to have studied me for a while.
"Twenty years of age. Is Latin-American. Has no personal experience on the field of business and is currently doing her diploma on Financial Management." He concluded placing the document on the table.
I gave a wry smile at Mason. He seemed to care less and looked at his wrist watch.
"I'm personally getting late on meeting. I want you to be go find out my last proposals with the other officials and print them out. If any of them has not been signed, place them on my table by two."
He picked his coat and phone that were lying on his table and started walking out of the office.
"One last thing Adams, I hate lazy and sloppy staff. And I always keep a watchful eye on my employees."
I watched him as he left the office. I bit my lower in lip on anxiety.
Damn it. I shouldn't give up too early.Maybe his just throwing empty treats to make you scared but from the look from his face, he seemed dead serious.I hurried back to my office and grabbed my phone that was lying on my desk. I left the building and went to the car pack and hid myself amongst the cars. I quickly dialed Meg.
"Hello, who am I speaking to?"
"It's Sisi."
"I'm sorry but I-"
"Listen to me Meg, I am Sienna Kase, gossip columnist in The Express Times. Right now, I'm in a freaking car pack! You know why? Because I'm hiding myself from the creepy stalker CEO and I have no time to start explaining why!"
"Homagad! Sisi! What the hell have you been up to girl? What happened? Why did you change your number and email address?"
"I'll explain later. How are things going back in the news room?"I asked trying to diverge Meg's questions.
"Awful. Your lover boy Luke has gone insane without you here. And let me not get started on Richy"
I let out a frustrated sigh.
"Everything alright Sisi?"
"I'll explain to you later. Right now I have to go before I raise any suspicions of my whereabouts. Do me a favour and tell Leon I'm okay....and tell Richy that I'll bring the story."
"Can't wait to find out. Talk later"
"Sure."
I hang up my phone and looked around.
I stuffed my phone into my pocket and trudge back to the office.*********
"Finally, this stupid work is done. This Mason guy is such a pain in the ass." I muttered as I placed the printed documents on Mason's desk.
I examined Mason's office for a while.
He is a handsome guy, with a scruffy dark hair that spoke of one who didn't give much attention to his appearance. A guy who has few words , I'm sure he has a lot of secrets enclosed in this room.
The desk. Hope there's something there.I instantly dived into the folders that we're arranged in the top of his desk. With the endless flipping of papers, I didn't find anything.
"C'mon Sienna, you've got this. I checked my horoscope and it didn't say anything about me losing today" I told myself.
I searched on the wastebasket but nothing. Maybe this would be harder than I thought it would.
My eyes darted around the room, looking for the file cabinet.
Once I caught a glimpse of it, I opened it and analysed the files.
A brown envelope caught my eye. It hadn't been addressed to anyone which seemed odd. I slowly opened the envelope and pulled out its contents.Bill for the up coming wedding at 29th August.
"Bingo! Mama just hit the jackpot" I smirked in victory.
I continued reading the paper until I heard some voices nearing the office.
"Shot! I guess my horoscope didn't tell me I'll get busted today."
