Chapter 2: Friend Zone
Just now I realize why my cousin goes out with me even he have his girlfriend. Because he knows that I’m his cousin. It’s such a shame that he didn’t bother telling.
We still texted and tell stories. He gave me his friend’s number for me to text. He thought that we might be good friends so I texted it.
“Hi! It’s me Amber Lautner. My cousin gave me your number. Do you mind if I text you?” That’s what I texted because I really don’t know what to say.
“Hi! I’m Archie Potato. Don’t make fun with my name, please” he replied. “Yes, your cousin did inform me that one famous girl will text me within 5minutes.”
“Haha! Ok” Well, I’m not in the mood to talk to my cousin’s friend when suddenly he opened up a topic for our conversation.
“So, describe your ideal man” That’s how he opened up a topic and I knew a lot of things about him like he is 1year higher in me.
We became close. We see each other in school. We text, we chat, we talk. I suddenly am falling for him.
“Hey amber, can I ask you something?”
“Yeah. Sure. What is it?”
“Well, we’ve been friends for almost two months and I’m in love with you. You’re a sweet girl and I love everything in you. Well, can you be my girlfriend?”
Obviously, I was shocked but so disappointed cause he only text me and not tell me right through my face. I can say that I’m quite blushing and wanted to accept the offer. But no, He is my friend that I love and he’s my cousin’s friend. I’m not yet ready for any relationships so I easily rejected him.
“Archie, I’m sorry. I like you too but I don’t want to ruin our nice friendship. Hope you understand” Who wants a last name POTATO, anyways.
Starting that day, he never texted me or chat. Well, I guess that’s what people called “Friend Zone”. He was ignoring me and never the same. I don’t mind at all. I still have a lot of friends.
