It went silent rather abruptly. Not five minutes ago, everyone was cheering for our victory. Now it was replaced by unnerving quietness and I strong sense of unfriendly magical energy.
"Take this, Princess." I handed her a spell bead that will cast Perfect Cube around her, Arthur and the tavern when activated. "If anything happens to you, crush it with your hand and you, Arthur and the tavern will be protected. Do not use it on any of us; I cannot stress that enough. Do you understand?"
"Well, yes but_" I didn't stay to hear he rest of her sentence.

Outside was a very tall and man in full body armour. His power level was 26,000. A member of the demon clan and one of the ten commandments. Galan. He was five times the height of Ban and naturally very threatening and unnerving to look at. Even Meliodas was shook. His helmet had two horns and a pointed chin with a large, red gem on his breast plate
"The Seven Deadly Sins..." His voice echoed inside his armour. "How I have heard so much about you. My name is Galan." He scanned over all of us and stopped at Meliodas. Long time no see, Captain. You haven't changed a bit." His voice was calm, almost taunting us but what startled us mist was that he knew Meliodas. The only question I had was how they knew each other.

"The humans have changed significantly over 3,000 years. But they still swarm like insects." He turned his head to the right. "I need some space." And with once swift move of his arm, whipped out and entire portion of the city. "Ah, some breathing space." He turned back to Meliodas. "I've always wanted a round with you, Meliodas_" Before, he could finish his sentence, Meliodas swiftly and silently thrust himself in Galan's direction and struck his neck. This sent Galan to the ground, spilling his blood and his arm blade pointing up. This impaled Meliodas who was still in free fall like a skewer. He bled out a terrifyingly amount of blood that made both me and Elizabeth scream and I covered my mouth with my hands.

Using Lostvayne, Meliodas split himself into four clones which all went straight into attack. Galan killed one by slicing it in half like it were butter. The next came from behind which was also killed the same way. The third met the same fate. The fourth managed to do the most damage before being caught by the neck. "So this is the real one." We were all certain this was the end before Master cast a spell and Diane decided to attack with Gideon.

She ran to Galan at full speed, leaped and hammered Gideon from above. This worked in initiating an attack as Galan fell to the ground and letting Meliodas go but at the same time, Gideon bounced off Galan's skull and back on to Diane's, in turn, sending her to the ground. He head landed right next to me.

"Diane! Are you okay?!" I screamed but she only groaned. I looked back up to see that Galan had vanished, almost as if in to thin air. "Where did he go?  Did your spell make him vanish?" I asked Master but she shook her head.

"He managed to dodge my spell simply by jumping out of the way." As if on que, Galan landed mere feet behind Master. "Hellfire!" I yelled and used my arm as an imaginary fiery sword, aiming at Galan in an attempt to at least knock him off balance due to his talk and slender structure. It managed to deliver a fiery explosion on the left side of his chest. If I had a real sword, this would have definitely sent him flying. But this had no effect and only cut part of his shoulder and made me the new target. At this point, I didn't care if I died despite Galan and his blade coming closer and closer to me.

"Lady Emilia get out of there!" Elizabeth's voice called from the tavern. I had just enough time to look over and smile. She had activated the protection spell which was a relief. It would stay like that for days if needed.
If Hellfire had no effect even if it were just my arm, then no attack would either or at  least one that would work in time. Even if I knew Full Counter, it would have been useless against a sword swing. As long as Meliodas is alive, my job is done. His blade didn't go all the way through, but deep enough into my chest that I could feel my heart rate decrease. It was a burning sensation that wan't even that painful, now I think back on it. I couched up a mouthful of blood than continued to drip from my chin as the blade was removed and my numb body fell to the floor. A pool of my own blood surrounded me.

"Conscious Death." I casted one final spell to keep me alive as long as I could with an additional protective dome around me. This spell will remain as long as I concentrated on staying alive. I wanted to see how this ended. Think of it as my dying wish.

"Hold on." Master called. "I wish to make a deal."

"I despise pesky little mages like you." Galan's voice was equally calm as Master's but twice as threatening.

"Your powers as one of the ten commandments far surpassed my expectations. More than I ever could have imagined. You could easily kill us all of as quickly as you wish but will you consider sparing us if I offer you this: If you tell us the aim of the ten commandments, I will, in return, share all of my information with you and any aid you require" Master... What on earth are you doing? Master's face turned to fear and I heard Meliodas call out,
"No! Merlin, Galan has_"
"You lied!" Galan screamed and just like that, Master has turned completely to stone.
"Master!" I wailed at the sight

"The greatest sorceress, Lady Merlin has been turned to a statue!" Galan announced, obviously pleased with his work. "I am Galan! Truth of the Ten Commandments! If you lie before me, you will be turned to stone no matter who you are!" He laughed at his glory as we all stood there in shock. "This commandment given by the Demon King is absolute. Nothing can save you now." His voice had now calmed but still just as taunting. "Now, shatter to pieces!" Galan raised his arm and was about to thrust it down onto Master. There was nothing anyone could do.

Meliodas sprung back into action and strike a blow just at the right moment as his power level reached 4,400 as oppose from his previous 3,000. Dark swirl markings covered his forehead and part of his cheek as he attacked. Arthur's soldiers also decided to take part in in the fight as they came running from behind a cluster of buildings. The evacuated themselves when Galan whipped out part of the city. One by one, they all died, including a large collection of Meliodas' clones. With every swing of his sword and every leap in the air, Galan killed more and more people. He was simply just too strong.

The real Meliodas landed on the ground from a terrifying height. He only had one arm. After a moment, a dark, liquid-like texture bled from his damaged arm and grew into a new one. I'd never seen healing magic like it. It was alien to me. Soon, the rest of the dark substance covered about a third of his body and for the first time in my life, I felt a negative sense of magic emanating from Meliodas and it was strong. It was the same energy being emitted from Galan. His power level risen to 10,300. He flew from the ground faster than sound and kicked Galan in the abdomen with both feet. Punches were flying from all directions. Punch, leap back, punch, leap back over and over again. With every punch, the dark magic from Meliodas grew stronger. He was speaking to himself, "
Control it... Don't be swallowed by the darkness..."

"What are you mumbling abou_" Galan was about to fight back but what Meliodas did next could only be described as demonic. The darkness he was trying so desperately to control was unleashed as blackness sprouted from the ground in a circle around Galan where you could only just make out his outline. "How unbelievably weak you have become!" Galan swung his sword once more, splitting the darkness in two and impaling Meliodas to the ground.

I may be immortal but I can still die through serious injuries. I barely felt the warmth of my blood on my skin. He was about to hit the Perfect Cube before he realised even his attacks won't work on destroying it. Only I, Master or another mage will be able to cancel the spell. "You must feel very lucky to be face to face with me and live to tell the tale. Appreciate this fortune. Farewell." Those were the last words I heard before slipping into unconsciousness and soon, death. At least Arthur and Elizabeth were safe.
