Chapter 9

"YU!!" The white haired boy yelled. "COME BACK!"

The raven haired teen grinned, his emerald eyes flashing. "I didn't come here to join the stupid Military Police! I'll show Guren I'm ready to join the Moon Demon Company."

Kaneki groaned under his breath. 'That idiot's going to get himself suspended.'

With inhuman speed, Kaneki scaled a building and began jumping from roof to roof. He quickly caught up to Yu, passing him and then jumping down from a two story building.

Grunting as his feet impacted the ground, Kaneki stood in front of Yu. "Yu, we need to get back to our posts!"

Yu's eyes lit up as he spotted something over Kaneki's shoulder. "A four-horseman of John!" He exclaimed, brushing past Kaneki.

Kaneki sighed as shouts of, "PRIVATE HYAKUYA!!" resounded behind him.

'Well, I tried. I may as well get back to my post before Guren finds out.'

Kaneki turned and began to walk away.

"Private Kaneki! What do you think you're doing here?"

'Shit.'

Kaneki turned, spotting one of the soldiers running up to him, dragging a struggling Yu along with him.

"Private Hyakuya, Private Kaneki! Suspension!"

Yu hit his head against the window, over and over again. "I'm bored." He sighed. "This is so stupid. I'm a soldier, what am I doing in a classroom."

"Stop it Yu, you're going to lengthen our suspension. We're never going to get to fight vamps if you keep getting us in trouble." Kaneki whispered back.

"Besides, we might as well enjoy this while we can. We never got the chance to get proper schooling before joining the military police. We should learn something while we have the chance." Kaneki said, not looking up from his paper as he took notes too fast for the blind eye to see.

"Nerd." Yu shot back, resting his chin on his hand.

"Hyakuya! Don't talk during the lesson. Just because you transferred in recently, that doesn't mean you can disrupt the classroom!" The teacher yelled. "That applies to you too, Kaneki!"

"That applies to you too, Kaneki..." Kaneki muttered under his breath as he jotted the words down. He paused, sitting up straight in his seat. "Wait...Why is he..."

A look of realization crossed his face. Kaneki gave Yu a death glare. "Now you're gone and done it." He groaned. "We'll never get back onto the field."

The teacher gritted his teeth. "One more word out of you two and I'll have you expelled."

Yu jumped out of his seat, ecstatic smile on his face. "What? You'll expel me? Really? That'd be awesome, let's do that!"

"Are you making fun of me?!"

The girl behind Yu tapped him on the back. Kaneki didn't miss the action and turned in his seat as she wordlessly held up a notepad. With his heightened vision, Kaneki read the words, 'My name is Hiragi Shinoa. The army appointed me to be your supervisor.'

"Supervisor?" Yu questioned, looking confused.

'We're done for.' Kaneki thought.

The girl set the notebook down on her desk and began writing again. After a moment, she held the book back up. 'Should I see you display uncooperative behavior, both your, and your companion's suspension will be extended.'
