"Oh my god" 

Sam dropped the phone once she heard the news. Crunching over, she sobbed into her hand. 

"Sam? Baby? What's wrong?" Her boyfriend ran over to her crying form and wrapped his arms around her. He smoothed her hair down as he whispered sweet nothings in her ear. 

"They're- they're gone. They're dead Harrison" 

"Who's dead?" Came a voice from the doorway. Sam and Harrison's eyes widened as their heads whipped to the door. 

"Flynn! I thought you were in your room?" Sam said. 

"Who died Sam?" He said again. 

"C'mere Flynn" Sam spoke softly to her cousin, motioning him over "we have to talk" 

Flynn stiffly sat down on the light grey couch and looked at the couple in front of him.  

"I'll give you two some space" Harrison said before exiting the room. Sam pulled Flynn into her arms and wiped her eyes. 

"I'm so sorry. Your mum and dad were in an accident" Sam's voice cracked "They loved you so much" 

Sobs racked Flynn's body as he clung to his cousin like a lifeline. As Flynn cried, Sam whispered 'i'm sorry' over and over into his hair. The pair sat there for what felt like hours before Flynn spoke. 

"Where am I going to live now?" 

"You could stay here if you like? Or you could live with Aunt Carol in Toronto?" Sam suggested, already knowing the answer. Flynn laughed a little and wiped his tear-stained cheeks. 

"No thank you, she smells like cabbage and has no filters on her farts. Don't even get me started on that evil parrot of hers" 

"Yeah, that parrot is pretty evil. You're so strong, Flynn" Sam brushed some hair out of his face "We need to get you a haircut" 

Flynn swatted his cousin's hand away and stood up and walked to his room. Harrison passed Flynn in the hallway and smiled at him. 

"So how'd it go?" He asked as he sat on the sofa and looked towards the kitchen where Sam was preparing dinner. 

"Surprisingly well. He is such a brave kid" Harrison hummed in agreement, staring at the guest room's door.

my fam slam(lilli 2k18) and i went to the ruakura berry farm for a fruit ice cream and it was so busy like there was no line it was just people waiting for their ice creams like i had never seen it so busy
