~1 Week Later~

"Hey Sapphire, wanna go to the beach?" Alec asked when he walked into my room.

"Yeah, but we're not allowed on La Push without the packs permission," I frowned putting my book down next to me on the bed.

"I already asked Sam, he said it was fine as long as we don't cause any trouble," he smiled.

"You talked to Sam and it was alright with him?" I asked shocked.

"Yep, it wasn't awkward or anything," he nodded his head.

"I don't believe you," I said not believing him but smiling and looking at him suspiciously.

"Just come on," he laughed.

"Alright but if we get into trouble for being over there I'm blaming it all on you," I laughed getting up. "No get out so I can change." I shoved him out and went to my closet and changed.

"The sunset is so beautiful," I smiled, looking straight ahead at the sunset.

"Not as beautiful as you," Alec smiled at me. I looked at him and then looked down at the sand letting my hair fall in front of my face. Alec put a finger under my chin, lifting my head up, so I would be looking at him.

"You only think I'm beautiful because I'm your mate, that's the only reason why you like me," I frowned.

"What makes you think that?" He asked, frowning too.

"If we weren't mates, would you still think I'm beautiful?" I asked, ignoring his question entirely. He seemed shocked that I would even ask that but he quickly answered.

"Of course I would, we may be mates, but that's not why I love you, I love you because I want to not because of some stupid mate thing, I love you because you're intelligent, beautiful, amazing with kids, you are everything I have always wanted in a girl," he answered, pushing a lock of hair that was in my face, behind my ear. "There's something I have been wanting to ask you but I wanted to make it special and I know that you love the beach so I wanted to ask you here but then the whole Volturi thing happened." He paused and looked me deeply in my eyes. I looked at him with an expression that meant for him to keep going. He got the message and kept talking. "Will you be... will you be my girlfriend Sapphire?" I looked at him shocked for a few seconds but quickly recovered.

"You don't know how long I've been wanting you to ask that, of course I will," I smiled. He smiled back and leaned down towards me. I closed the gap between us and kissed him with so much passion. We pulled apart and smiled at each other.

"I love you, Sap," Alec said leaning his forehead on mine.

"I love you two, Alec," I said and kissed him again. I hope nothing bad happens anytime soon.
