The next day, I was walking down the hallway and everyone was staring at me. When I get to Mindy, she says,” Wow, what happened to you?”
I responded, “The Pearls happened.”
After that, I told her everything that happened with my mom and with the Pearls. She was shocked with all of the above.
I went to Chemistry and we were getting new partners. I always got paired up with some jerk who didn't do anything and just watched me do all the work. Mr. Gomez, the chemistry teacher, was reading off a list, "And Chloe, you'll sit next to Jake,"
"Great," I thought to myself, "I got a jock".
He said he thought that I was cute. I blushed, but knew he was probably doing it so I could be nice and do all the work. Later in chemistry, we had to mix chemicals and if we did it wrong, it could be a horrible mess. Not to brag, but I never messed up on anything, so I thought it would be easy.
I was already occupied with the thought of what Jake said to me and too busy wondering if what he said was true. Before I noticed the labels on the erlenmeyer flasks, I put the wrong chemical in, and it exploded.
I couldn't possibly have been more embarrassed than this. We all had to go outside.
When we finally changed classes, I was so happy. We had to do group activities and I ended up with girls in the Pearls. "Shocker," I thought to myself, sarcatically.
They were all talking about guys and how they were going to this party while I was doing the work, as usual. They finally talked to me, asking if I wanted to go and I said that I had to check with my mom. I was actually surprised they acknowledged I was in their group.
************ 2 days later ************
It’s Friday and it was the day of Jake’s party. The Pearls saw me and said,” We need to go shopping for today, because if we don’t look good our social standards will be utterly destroyed! Do you know what that is?”
I just nodded. Well, I went to chemistry and Jake just stared at me. I just looked away, because what else was I going to do? I was still embarrassed about what happened last chemistry class on Wednesday.
Today we were just learning, thank God. Now, I can’t do something stupid again. I completely dozed off. After almost 35 minutes, is when Jake noticed and tapped me; this made me feel even more embarrassed. Finally, the bell rung and I ran; I think even faster than a cheetah.
After school, we went to the mall and we got outfits for the party. We then went to Chloe’s house, where we got ready. Apparently, Chloe hired four stylist for us; it took us about 3 hours; that’s like twenty times longer than I take, I literally take five minutes. I swear to God, at the end, we all looked like quadruplets or something. We looked like total Barbies / models like seriously I don’t think I have never been this pretty (And I call myself pretty). At 7:00, we went to the party in Karen’s, another Pearl, Porsche. It was white with small bedazzles with the license plate stating, ”PRINCESS.”
When we finally arrived at the party, I noticed everyone was drinking, doing drugs, and were all high to the max. I felt so awkward, because they were all doing stuff I have never done or like they shouldn’t because we are all only juniors. I walk around and people are starting to whistle and compliment me, but all of the sounds this guy comes from behind and grabs my butt. I felt so disgusted that I wanted to leave, but then as I was walking out Hilary, the last official Pearl, grabbed be by the arm and took me back in with her.
As I am walking, I see Jake walking towards us and just see him just kiss Chloe, which made so angry, that I decided to go upstairs to find a room that’s empty and that is not being used by the sluts of New World High. I finally find one and I look the door and just cry, because I didn’t know Chloe was dating Jake, the hottest guy ever. I tell myself I knew what I thought was true, which was no guy likes me. Finally, I stop crying before my makeup smears and I go downstairs to only hear the Pearls talking crap about me and how they don’t really like me and that honestly hurt my feelings. They said I was a total nerd, a geek, etc. I got so mad that was about to tell them off and kick their sorry butts. I decided to solve my problems later, so I just left without them noticing, but obviously Jake had to notice and chase me out.
He asked, “Why are you leaving? You just got here and the party just got started.”
I yelled,” Well, why don’t you go ask your girlfriend and stupid, fake friends?”
Jake said, ”Whoa, what happened to you. Like five seconds ago you were quiet and now you are screaming,”
At the door, appeared Chloe saying, ”Jake come in.”
He replied, ”I will meet you inside. I am dealing with something.’
She left while rolling her eyes.
I said, "Whatever, go deal with your girlfriend. It’s not like you even care what I say. It’s not like anyone has ever cared. Everyone noticed me this year after being in the school for two years almost three.’
Chloe comes back screaming, ”Hurry up!”
Jake said, “Ok I will be right there.”
While they were discussing, I ran home, before something else. My mom was drunk on the couch so when I got home she didn’t notice. I went upstairs and just threw myself on my bed and cried so much that I fell asleep.
