I sat on my bed evaluating how much I had changed ,visiting my cousin during the holidays definitely had done me some good.
I had ditched the thick rimmed glasses that I had worn since first grade, they had made me look dorky and had hidden my light emerald green eyes, I replaced them with contacts. My pale skin had developed a slight brown glow and my once dull and lifeless brown hair had gone under tremendous amounts of treatment ,and in it's place now stood luscious and lively dark brown locks. I had been graciously charmed to have gotten my braces removed the month before and had managed to lose the baby fat I had acquired over all the years of not exersicing , by swimming consistently in the beautiful indoor pool that my cousins owned. Suddenly almost by some miracle it seemed that I had become some kind of goddess, was this possibly real? How could I have changed so much.
I smiled at my reflection in the full length mirror that hung beside me bed, "Watch out California, you haven't seen anything yet." I looked around my room thinking about how today would be the last day that I would sleep in my room for quite some time. My eyelids grew heavier as sleep threatened to envelope me, tomorrow would indeed be a new day with new beginnings , a slight smile made its way on my lips as my sleep took over my thoughts. Suddenly I saw nothing but black.
