Branch opened his locker with a frown. Today is his grandma's funeral and he is not happy about it, at all.
With a groan he sat down at the back of the class, shutting out the world. Out of sadness, he started to carve and engrave poppy's name on his desk. The only person to cheer him up.
The class ended and Branch strolled to his locker in disappointment that Poppy didn't show up in class today.
"Hey grey!" Creek laughed. His body casting shadows around Branch, intimidating him.
"Poppy isn't in today, so she isn't here to help your problems!" Creek smirked. His friends beside him laughed and cornered Branch. Their fists clenched and ready to inflict pain on Branch.
With a loud sign he walked away with books still clasped In his arms.
"What? To afraid?" Creek chanted. He growled at Branch.
Ignoring, Branch continued his trek to reach his class. Surprised that Creek let him leave.
Branch sat at the back of the class again, as if it was his own habit to sit alone. This was a worse week for him. Guy Diamond has the glitter flu and Poppy didn't show up today for some unexpected reason.
Debating, he finally flashed out his phone and typed in her number, messaging her instantly.
_______________
Branch: Poppy? its Branch. Why didn't you show up for school? I'm worried.
Poppy: it's ok, I had to do some Queen errands. Will be in tomorrow. Creek hasn't given you any trouble lately?
Branch: no, it's ok. Cya tomorrow.
_______________
Branch smiled. His heart raced, his cheeks flushed. Even though he was grey, a present of pink arose on his cheeks. In panic he noticed he was smiling the day he lost his grandma. Without thinking, he shook his head and frowned. His happiness replaced by the memories of his granny's past.
He cannot let sediment get in the way of his long lost family.
The last school bell rung and that was when Branch rushed to his locker, trying to avoid any troll interactions. That's when he bumped into a large frame that seemed annoyed.
"Watch it!" Creek looked down at the intruder, smirking.
"Branch! The person I was looking for!" Creek gathered his men towards my direction.
Branch stood frozen in fear, expecting some sort of violence but was replaced with a vicious smile.
"I would like to trade in a deal!" Creek grinned at him and his men.
"To keep Guy Diamond, Poppy and everyone else you love safe, listen carefully!" Creek approached Branch elegantly.
"You will abide by everything I tell you, I shall not hurt you no longer and won't hurt your precious friends!" Creek laughed as if he knew he would have control over me.
Branch can't loose anyone else, his grandma meant so much to him, his friends and family would hurt him twice as deep. Branch is too loyal to let his friends fall.
"Fine!" Branch agreed. Without hesitance, he shook Creeks hand in agreement.
"You will be your mean spiteful self to Poppy! And push her away she is mine. If you bail, I won't hesitate to do something you might regret." Branch widen his mouth in shock. No matter what way, his heart will be broken. Without thinking he agreed, wishing he didn't. But had to in order to save his friends.
Branch had made a deal with the devil.
