"Sweet is the memory of distant friends! Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart"
~Washington Irving
I woke up feeling the sweet-warm rays of the sun and a sweet smell, smell of fresh lavenders, I love lavenders, it reminded me of spring. I opened my eyes and found myself cuddled up with Kookie on our living room couch. I stared at his angelic face, he looked so beautiful, even while sleeping. His hair was messed up. It took me a few moments to realize what actually happened. Last night we were watching 'Finding Nemo' and then we just slept here. I looked around and saw everyone sleeping there, cuddled up against each other. Simmi was missing, where's she? The TV is switched off. She must have done it then. I was going to get up, but then I realized that Kookie is still holding my hand...and the memory from last night came back to my mind. He said...share the warmth.....with him.
I tried removing his fingers one by one from my hand. His fingers are long. I succeeded finally without waking him up. I got up from the couch. But then I bent down and whispered...
"Good Morning Kookie"....softly in his ear.
I took my hoodie, wore it and went out to look for Simmi. There she is...roaming in the woods all by herself. I caught up to her....
"Hey Simmi! Wait up..." She looked back at me. Her eyes were shining as the morning sun rays hit her eyes. On a closure approach I noticed that she is crying.
"Simmi, why are you crying? What happened?" I asked worriedly.
"Nothing....." She didn't want to tell me as usual.
"Come on Simmi, tell me, you know you can't hide it for long..." I said encouragingly.
After a moment of thought and silence she started.....
"I am going to miss you. Why don't you stay a little longer? We feel so alone without you. We feel incomplete Cherry, you just came for 2 days. It's not enough for us..." So, that's the reason....
"Simmi I too want to stay...but...you know I have my job there. Even I don't like staying there. I am all alone there, I have no friends. Not even in the library. I feel lonely there, but there's nothing I can do...." I trailed off...my eyes filled with fresh tears....We sat in silence, trying to absorb my departure and the distance increasing between ourselves. Nishi came there and sat beside me joining us and understanding what we are up to.
"I'll miss both of you"...I said hugging both of them. We smiled at each other walking back to our home.
As we reached home we saw, BTS was up and they were getting refreshed. We three went to the kitchen to make coffee for all of us. They all showered quickly and got dressed, like they were just going to start a photo shoot here. Oh yeah, photos....we didn't take a single photo from the time they arrived. Let's do it today then.
"Noor, when do you have your flight today?" Nishi asked me.
"At 9, in the morning" I said.
"At 9? Today? We also have the same flight. Why don't you go with us? It'll be awesome..." Jimin hyung said entering the kitchen.
"But hyung..." He cut me off before I could say anything.
"Ah~ don't call me hyung, I am still so young, just call me Jimin. And no buts...we'll upgrade you to the business class don't worry. So that's final, you are going with us" Jiminie hyung...I mean Jimin said without caring about my opinion.
"Yes Noor, you should go with them. They would take good care of you, after all it is a long journey, long journies are better with friends. Go for it" Nishi said encouraging me.
