Darker Night

A day had passed and Aunt Victoria is still not back, which is odd. She never stays out even though she's known for being a drunkard. I don't even know how she manages to get home in that kind of state.

I should be happy right? At last, the great Aunt of Elizabeth has finally left her own house. But, this is only for the mean time. My freedom and peace will never last for long, those aren't for me.

I cooked myself breakfast and cleaned the house. I was expecting she'd be here for lunch since she usually don't skip her lunch at home. My heart started to throb when the sun is almost setting and Aunt Victoria is still not back. Funny that I cursed her for so many times but I still care for her cause she's my Aunt. She's the only relative that's left of me.

I went out to see if she's outside, but the whole village was already devoured by the night. The villagers are already inside their homes and my Aunt is still missing. Where did she go?

I decided to stay outside the house and wait for my damsel in distress Aunt. More like a pain in the knickers Aunt.

I covered my mouth as I released a yawn. I have been waiting for a long time and my behind is starting to cramp. It is a bit strange, because never was she gone for this long. She may be drunk but she has her ways on how to get home. She hates staying on the house of her harems, she just hit it off on the bar.

I diverted my attention to the reflection of the moon to the sea. The waves clashing mesmerizes me as it sounds like a melody.

This kind of scene never gets old to me. I would die for this moment, I would die for this to not end. It always amaze me that even in the darkness, there's beauty. Like my Aunt Victoria, even if we're not really intimate and close. I know that behind her dark and cruel image, there are stories behind it. She's just one of the vague arts, beautiful yet chaotic.

I think it's beyond my boundaries to ask her that. Maybe one day, she'll open up and we will live as a family.

A yawn escaped again from my mouth, signalling me to just give up and just let my Aunt do the things she wants. Besides, she's old enough to handle herself.

I stood on the sand and walk my feet inside the house. One last glance on the beauty of the sea and the night finally pulled me.

A loud bang woke me up from my deep slumber. Oh the old woman is back already. She must be drunk after spending time with her harems. I walked out my room to see Aunt Victoria. I'm pretty sure she won't be able to walk her butt to her bed and instead sleep the night at the kitchen.

" Aunt Victoria?" I called looking around the dark living room. Wait, why are the lights out? I remember leaving it on.

"Aunt Victoria? Are you drunk?" I asked and then realize that it was a stupid question. Of course she is Elizabeth, you're way more stupid than your stupid Aunt.

I turned on the lights to look for Aunt Victoria expecting she's unconsciously lying on the floor. But I found no trace of Aunt Victoria's existence.

well, maybe she's in the kitchen I guess?

Why does Aunt Victoria loves playing Hide and seek whenever she's drunk?

I went to the kitchen and the lights were also turned off, I was surprised to see the windows widely open even when It was closed when I left it.

It's weird since Aunt Victoria never uses windows to get inside. She must have had a good time that made her that drunk.

Amidst the dark room, I saw something scintillate on the entrance of the kitchen. It all happened so fast that I didn't had time to comprehend what was that object when a rough hand grabbed me by the waist and pulled me to his body pointing that shiny object on my neck.

"Just you dare to move even the slightest and I will slit your throat." a voice whispered menacingly on my ear.  Fear crept through my insides as I felt the cold shining metal object on my skin. My hands were already cold and as much as I wanted to call for help, his words were seemed to marked with finality.

If this is one of Aunt Victoria's harems I would sue her for life long imprisonment. That woman is very beautiful and kind that even when she's drunk she's willing to let her man sleep inside her house.

His grip on my waist tightened to the point that I am catching my breath and started struggling for air.

"Who are you?" I asked with complete bravery. He cackled with a contagious laughter which I soon followed. Maybe this guy is just joking around, kidding and just trying to scare the hell out of me?

"Uh, ha.ha.ha can you release me now?" I asked suppressing my laughter.

He chuckled and grin revealing his century old yellow teeth, I almost gagged. All of a sudden, his grip on me tighten and the dagger that he pointed on me started to get firmer on my neck. His laughter died down and was replaced with a serious and deadly look.

"You think I'm kiddin' around doll?" He growled which made me feel uneasy.

"I don't really know, but I guess maybe?" I retaliated which I soon regretted. I really need to shut my mouth when my life is on the line. As I looked into his eyes, then I knew that this man doesn't do any jokes. Fear crept through me, as everything started to sink in. This man is dangerous and he will probably kill me.

He spun me around and immediately grab a hold of my neck. He harshly slammed me unto the wall and started choking me.

"You are a pretty lil' thing aren't ya, but I think we have to do somethin' about that mouth of yours." He let out an amused grin which made me tremble.

"Mister, I-I don't really have any idea of what you are saying." I said my voice shaking.

All of a sudden, a smelly rag was clumped on my mouth. My thoughts started to rattle when I realize what this will do to me. I started to panic when I was already lacking oxygen. I started thrashing around, struggling to escape. Tears started to form when I had already no choice but to breathe with the rag on my nose.

Tears gushed into my cheeks as my vision started to get blurry and my head getting dizzy. Dark spots are appearing on my vision. My  head was spinning. I could feel the pain attacking my head and I still have the urge to fight it but my strength is slowly leaving my body, lights are sweeping away. Darkness was the last thing that filled my misery.
