I woke up feeling nauseous. My head hurt so much that I couldn't bring myself to open my eyes. I forced it to open and was taken a back when I saw my current situation. I am lying on a dirty small bed inside a dirtier abandoned room which smell so damn bad. It reeks like dead rats and probably, dead people.
Goodness, I forgot I'm kidnapped.
I roamed my eyes to the dirty abandoned room where I am in. The bed sheets stinks so much that I quickly pulled it off from my body. It felt disgusting, my body feels really icky and itchy. I hurriedly got up and ran to the window of this room and look of what's outside. It was a bit small and was placed a bit high, that I had to tiptoe a little to snuck my head in.
My heart throb so fast when I saw the running blue waters. Running? Wait WHAT? How did that happened? Am I sailing? What the hell is happening?
I reminisced all the things that had happened earlier, where the hell did that stinky old man go? Did he plan to rape me? and throw my body to the ocean? Just by thinking about it horrifies me to death.
I dreamed to be one of the sea, but not through death.
I massaged my head hoping to ease the pain. Please, give me answers. Aunt Victoria? Where are you? This might just be a dream, yeah this might be a dream.
A loud noise made me realize that this isn't a dream and everything is real. I am kidnapped and will soon be dead.
The door harshly swung open. Four old men entered the room looking like savages. Oh no Elizabeth, they are.
They are wearing fabrics that looks so old and I could tell that those were not wash for a long time. One of them has a cover on his left eye and the rest are wearing hats that made them look like pirates...
Pirates? Did I just say Pirates?
" The sleeping money is awake. Time for negotiation." the man with a cover in his eyes said in a very scary tone.
I watch in horror as they slowly walked their butts to my direction. My mind went blank when the four of them, finally a two steps away from me.
" STOP!" I screamed so loud hoping that they would somehow listen to this sleeping money they are referring to.
" STOP PLEASE!" I begged and hot tears started to stream down my cheeks. But instead of listening to me, they plastered scary smiles on their faces. The throbbing of my heart doubled as they come nearer to me. Please... help me.
" WHO ARE YOU?!" I asked courageously and it made them stop. Thank heavens.
There was a moment of silence but was soon followed by their barks of laughter. I watched them in complete confusion as they held their tummies and laugh as if what I said is the most funniest thing they had ever heard.
" Answer me!" I shouted in the middle of their undying laughs. Consequently, all their eyes are now on me. I got their full attention. Humor still evident on their eyes as they gaze into mine.
"Good question Young lady." The stinky old man whom I recognized as the kidnapper who trespassed into Aunt Victoria's house.
" Let's just say we are your sellers. We sell you to make money." He said plainly like its no big deal to me but it's a big deal to them. The hell!
My eyes widened of the thought of being sold. How did I come to this situation? I'm just a woman who dreamed to sail and get away from my Aunt Victoria. How come my dreams are coming true? Though, in a different way.
C'mon Elizabeth, here you are...Finally sailing, finally one with the sea, finally away from your Aunt Victoria... But still not free. I have always thought that the sea is my only way to escape from my life at the land, never have I thought of this kind of escapade. I should have thought of possibilities that I will be kidnapped someday.
My tears trickled down and all I could think is my state. No one's going to save me, I have no one. Not even Aunt Victoria.
" Please, spare me..." I begged but their ears are blocked by their imaginations.
" No...no...tsk, we will get golds because of you." The one with a silver hat said.
" I am not worth golds. I'm not that important and alluring!" I screamed to their faces.
" Young lady, you're more than enough." He replied.
" Shut up! You all don't own me. Stop saying things like you own my body!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. Life's so cruel to me, so cruel that it wants me to die.
" You were sold to us by your Aunt Victoria." He added. He looked at me intently as if watching my insides. But I was stunned when I heard what he said, my ears seemed to left my head, and I felt numb from the big revelation.
My tears was quickly replaced by a ravishing anger. I have always known that Aunt Victoria is a cruel woman, but I never thought that she could do this to me since I am still her niece.
Never knew that snakes were on my father's side of the family. I don't know how to react. Blood is supposed to be thicker than water.
Everything went black, I couldn't see anything but black though I'm still conscious. But my anger completely won my whole state. I am slowly eaten by my hatred to my parents, Aunt Victoria, the four stinky old men and my buyer.
" Let's get this done boys." The one with the black hat said and got a hold of both my arms. He forcefully pulled me towards the entrance of the room I am in. I struggled with his grip but it was no use, I am bound to die anyway.
Dark Clouds welcomed me. It seems that the heavens have seen my misery. As much as I wanted to escape from this loads of bastards, I couldn't see any land or trees to run to. We're far from any island. The only thing I can see right now is the blue waters.
I wept loudly and tried to get myself free.
"STOP IT WOMAN!" The one holding me shouted. My Gosh! He just made me shut my mouth. His breath smelled like fragrance and flowers, no sarcasm inserted. Tsk, I don't think I'll live if I will smell that breath again.
"See that lady?" He said with a grin while pointing at the foggy side of the sea.
A fog? Is that what he was grinning for? I look like a mad woman for thrashing wildly and crying but this? Their like lunatics who've just seen a fog for the first time of their life.
"What? Are you gonna throw me out there?" I asked? Oh, I'd rather let myself drown in the sea than let them do whatever they want to do to me.
"Stupid! That's an island." He retorted a bit annoyed.
Oh... so their not lunatics after all.
"Well, I couldn't see a-" I was stop in the middle of my sentence when I saw something behind the fog.
Surely enough the lunatics weren't lunatics after all, it really is an island.
"What are you going to do there?" I asked. My heart started to pump, and my lips felt dry. I have a clue of what they will say but I don't want to confirm it myself. If you will be in my situation, You will never try to confirm it. No one will dare to confirm my Fate.
"It's WE my lady. We will do something there." As creepy and scary as the dark, his words brought shivers to my spine.
"Welcome to the Darbanchas Island."
For some reason, terror lost my sanity.
