(Zoe's POV)
"Hello everybody!" I shouted into my vlogging camera, strolling briskly through the airport, lugging my scuffed suitcase filled to the brim. "We are on our way to Playlist, and I can't wait to meet you guys there!" Louise tripped and almost fell face first onto the cold stone floor, we burst out laughing, with our deafening shrieks resinating through the entire airport.
We met up with Marcus and his friend Alfie, who I have only met once or twice before at the massive YouTube gatherings. I hugged Marcus tightly. After four months of being apart from one of my closest friends, I could feel how much we had missed the hilarious times we enjoy together, Moving down the line of people, I got to Alfie. When it came to the hug, it was just so awkward after the 'Zalfie' ship started up a few weeks ago.
Alfie already had a girlfriend, so how could Zalfie even be real? Edits of us together were being uploaded to social media and rumours had already spread that we were a couple. After recently breaking up with my boyfriend that I'd been with since the end of secondary school, this whole couple thing blowing up really was not what I wanted. Alfie kept ignoring me and shutting me out when all I really wanted was for us to get along and put this "Zalfie" thing behind us.
Finally, after a exhausting twelve hour flight to Florida, we finally made it. I hopped off the plane with my chum and walked into the airport to collect our things and grab a taxi.
(Alfie's POV)
"For god's sake Marcus, ZALFIE ISN'T REAL!" I roared at the top of my voice as he kept mocking me about this new 'ship' that had blown up.
"I hardly even know Zoe, yet alone am able to be in a relationship, I have a girlfriend, remember?!" Marcus was really beginning to get on my nerves as was this whole thing with 'Zalfie'.
These awkward moments were really taking their toll. The morning after, all the british YouTubers were getting ready to perform on stage for the first day of Playlist. My heart was racing faster than I've ever felt it. Playlist Live is the first convention I've been to, and even with all the strenuous hours of preparation, I wasn't ready for the thousands of shrieking fans standing before us.
After about two minutes the screaming had stopped and everyone began chanting "Zalfie" over and over again. Zoe and I flushed a bright crimson, and the awkwardness returned. For about the tenth time we had to to tell the fans that there was nothing between us at all. But who am I kidding, maybe there is something there, maybe I am actually putting the feelings off just because of the speculation. I have a girlfriend for god's sake, I can't be having doubts now. Not when we are on the other side of the world.
