Alfie's POV
I had just got off the phone with Lucy, after quite an aggravating call. Marcus knocked loudly on my hotel door and strolled right in.
"Hey, mate!" Marcus shouted with a beaming smile on his face. I didn't take much notice of him as I had a lot of things whirring around my head. I had just agreed never to see Zoe again. What have I done?!
My thoughts were cut off by Marcus shaking me by the shoulders. "What's wrong, Alfie? You don't really seem yourself. You look like someone's told you Santa isn't real!" Marcus joked, not understanding what I've got myself into.
" I can't see Zoe again." I mumbled.
"Of course you can! Look, we all understand 'Zalfie' is a joke, all we're doing is having a little joke. You don't need to take it that far." I could tell Marcus was going to be surprised as to what I was going to say next. He didn't seem to really understand where I was going with this.
"No. I mean, Lucy and I have found a way to try and make our relationship work. She doesn't want me to see Zoe. I've said I'm going to give it a go."
"That's ridiculous!" Marcus exclaimed. "How are you going to avoid her when you see her practically every single day, and she's in our 'gang'? You don't realise how hard this is going to be on all of us to go back and forward between you two, just so you can be all happy with your girlfriend, who's happy enough with heaps of other men from what she's been tweeting about."
Marcus really thought I hadn't taken any of this into consideration?! The one reason I doubted this whole situation and he thinks I've just said yes on a whim to see how things go? I felt a rush of anger tingle through my veins. I couldn't be bothered with fighting anymore. What was done had already been done and nothing could change that now.
"Marcus, I'm not changing my mind, can we just stop going on about this now? Anyway, we need to go and get a taxi to the restaurant. It's about to arrive." Marcus rolled his eyes at me. I could tell he was angry at me, but frankly, I couldn't care less.
Then, I grabbed my phone, wallet and key card and hastily left my room, with Marcus just a few steps behind.
_________Quickly, I hopped into the taxi. As I was pulling the sliding doors of the car shut, I heard a female voice shouting my name. Lucy! I thought to myself, only to be lead to the disappointment of seeing Louise jogging towards our car.
I started chatting to Marcus again whilst Louise jumped into the cab. Behind her was Zoe, with a beaming smile wiped across her petite face. I shot a death stare at Marcus. My whole 'No Zoe' rule was completely failing. Marcus knew that I couldn't see Zoe and yet he invites her anyway.
An awkward atmosphere filled the now slightly crammed taxi.
"So, how are you, Alfie." Zoe questioned, her cheeks flushing bright crimson."Um..fine I guess." I murmured, unwillingly.
The rest of the journey was just awkward silence, with a few words from Marcus, trying to make me talk to Zoe. Once we jumped out of the taxi, I hurried to the restaurant door.
"What's up? Have I done something wrong?"
I didn't have anything to say to her, I need to keep my cool. I just brushed her off and kept walking. Then, I heard Zoe's light footsteps behind me.
"Alfie, can you just wait a second?"
My blood boiled. I needed to get away from her but she just wouldn't leave me alone. I was fuming. I just snapped. After what I had said, Zoe's eyes started filling with tears and her lip was quivering. I felt bad, but I had to walk away.
