Chapter 1

In Nashville, Luke Bryan was assigned to teach a young man how to be humble, kind, and do not take people for granted in the music industry. Luke was going to teach a young man that was the next line of the new generation of country music Dustin Lynch. Dustin Lynch was the bad boy/ player country singer, but Luke was assigned to change him by the CMA CEO Justin Heal. Luke knew Dustin had a bad reputation, and he was up for the challenge to make Dustin a humble man. Luke was in the recording studio writing a new song for his fans, but Dustin was two hours late meeting Luke. Luke was there at 6am and Dustin didn't come in till 8am. "Sorry I am late." Dustin came in with a hangover as his button up shirt was untucked wrinkled at the edges. "I don't care. I gave you a time to be here." Quickly Luke slammed a book to the floor to wake Dustin from his hangover. Dustin chuckled, "okay master chill. We are just writing music right?" Little did Dustin know Luke knew the truth why Dustin needed to learn to why he was really here? Mr. Heal told Luke a couple days ago, "If Dustin can't fix up his act; Dustin will sing country music no more." Luke deeply sees that Dustin can be a good guy by heart; he just has to get it out of him. Dustin saw Luke face that he was just in disappointment. When Dustin gets disappointment from someone he does not like the feeling of it, so he asked "Luke is there something you are not telling me?" Luke sat down next to the recording gear, and sighed "Mr. Heal said if you do not fix your up your 'bad boy act' he will make sure you will never sing country music again." Dustin was divested on the news Luke told him. When Dustin sings Country Music, it helps him be calmer than anything regarding his past. "You are not joking? Luke you know I am not the same if I don't sing Country Music. That is my life! That is my baby! I don't know what to do if that is going to be taken away from me. Please Luke don't let that happen." Dustin was freaking out pacing back and forth thinking. Luke was thinking of way to help Dustin, but then it hit him.

Luke got an idea, "I got it."

Dustin stopped pacing and looked at Luke. "What is it? Please tell me you have an idea."

"Hear me out; do not interrupt me when I tell you this. If you really want to change for good to be able to sing Country Music, you really got to show Mr. Heal that you do mean it. I know someone from South Texas, but this person is way deep in the south. They take people in to help them find themselves at this ranch they have in La Feria, TX. Eric Church went and he said it changed him for the grace of good, so maybe it can help you. We will tell Mr. Heal that you will go to this ranch in Texas to change and if he says 'yes that is a good idea'. You have to swear you really have to change Dustin, because if you do not you will never sing Country Music again." For a minute Dustin was on the ifs on the idea, but if he wants to sing Country Music again he would have to do whatever it takes.

The next day, Dustin and Luke went to go visit Mr. Heal to talk about Luke's plan to help Dustin. Dustin was terrified hoping this will work, but he was already having doubts on leaving Nashville. He was just use to having fun at bars drinking, picking up chicks, and singing music. Dustin is just worried that he won't be able to do that in Texas. He was already feeling that the people who are going to take him in will just keep him captive inside the ranch with no fun. As Luke and Dustin are waiting in the waiting room for heal, it was best that Dustin dresses very well to make sure he slowly get back on to Mr. Heal good side. Dustin was wearing a vintage blue V-neck shirt, with some blue jeans, boots, and just a regular cap instead of a cowboy one that he usually wears. The reception called, "Mr. Heal will see you now Mr. Bryan and Mr. Lynch." The boys nodded and went to Mr. Heal office, and Luke saw Dustin already so nervous "You okay?" Dustin gulped, "Yeah just are you sure this will work?" "Yes, now when we go in there just let me do the talking but if he asks you 'is that what you want?' you will just say 'yes sir', and you tell him how much you want to sing country music. Okay?" Dustin nodded yes, and Luke opened the door to Mr. Heal office. As they entered, Dustin felt like the pressure was on because he knew was at stake here. Everything was going to plan; Dustin did what Luke told him to do and Mr. Heal like the idea he didn't mind paying for Dustin flight to get over. "Okay then so Dustin you will leave in about a week. I am glad we got this done. Thanks Luke for your idea, I cannot wait for the progress Dustin." As Luke and Dustin nodded and left, Dustin was already feeling anxiety he was already thinking what people will do once they found out he is in South Texas.
