Kelly set beside her sister, staring at the bar. Today was her 10th birthday but she didn't feel like celebrating, mostly because all she wanted was to see her father but no one could find him. "Sis... Why does dad always leave?" Cana looked to her baby sister, she hated seeing her sister like this. Its been like this ever since her 5th birthday, Cana bit her lip. "He'll be here I promise." Cana set down the barrel, using her card magic once again to try and find him. This time it worked, she was surprised to see he was only a few towns away. "I'll be right back." Kelly just nodded, Mira took Cana's spot and tried making the little girl smile. Meanwhile, approached team Natsu (My phone auto corrected Natsu to not soup, x.x). "Guys I need a favor."

               Time skip 3 hours

The party was about to start, team Natsu was nowhere to be seen and the birthday girl was alone and the corner. The door flew open, in came team Natsu carrying a lot of boxes. Gildarts was right behind them, Cana pulled Gildarts off to the side. "From now on you are attending all of her birthdays. Got it? I don't care what you are doing." Gildarts nodded giving his eldest daughter a sheepish smile. When he found his youngest daughter his smile faded, didn't realize just how much she missed him. When Kelly looked up and saw him her eyes went wide, she slowly stood. "Daddy?" He grinned and picked her up, holding her clothes. "You miss me?" The little girl smile for the first time that day, nodding quickly.

              Time skip 6 years
                   Age:16

Kelly sat in the rain, tears running down her face. "You promised you'd never miss another birthday..." In front of her was a tombstone, her birthday had been full of tears as that was the day they buried her father. Cana stood beside her sister, she watched her cry not knowing what to do. Gildarts had tried to rush a dangerous job so he could make it to Kelly's birthday, he had died trying to keep the promised he made to them both. Everyone from the guild was there, no one wanted to leave the grieving sisters alone. Bacchus head come to be with his grieving girlfriend, but it seemed Kelly was hurting the most between the two. Laxuss was trying his hardest to console her, he felt guilty having approved that job. The last birthday Kelly got spend with him, her family and it was spent in tears.
