The Gang
The next morning it was chilly.. Again. Well it's normal it is winter. I got dressed and put on my black leather jacket.
"Hey Dally." I said "I'm going to go see the gang."
"Ok, just a min Pie I'll come with you. Just let me get dressed." He said.
He came out with his jeans that had holes in them like mine did. We wear these jeans so much. He didn't have a shirt on.. He's so sexy! Why does he have to be my brother?! Stop thinking like that Cherry!
"Cherry??" Said Dally
"What?" I said snapping out of my dazed thinking.
"You ok?" He asked smiling
"Yeah, but you might want to get a shirt on or you'll freeze out there." I said laughing
"Yeah my shirts are in here member?" He said
"Oh yeah." I said
"Well let's go." He said, pulling the shirt over his head.
"Ok." I said
He pulled on his leather jacket. We walked out the door.
"Hey Cherry!!" Said Ponyboy
"Hey Pony!" I said
"Hey Pie!" Said Darry
"Hey Darry." I said
"Hey!" Said Sodapop, Twobit, Steve, Johnny
"Hey guys." I said smiling
"Hey Dally." Said Johnny, running to him
"Hey Cake." Said Dally, messing up Johnny's hair.
Johnny smiled.
"Hey Darry." Said Dally
"Yes Dally?" Said Darry
"Can I talk to you?" He asked
"Yeah, c'mon in the house." Darry said leading Dally in the house.
"So you want to play some basketball?" Asked the guys
"Yeah!" I said "no cheating this time Twobit!"
The guys laughed. We went to play basketball.
<Dallys POV>
"Hey Cake." I said messing up Johnny's hair. He smiled
"Hey Darry?" I asked
"Yes Dally?" Darry said
"Can I talk to you?" I asked
He gave me a strange look then I gave him a look that said 'Dude this is important' he saw that and finally realized that this is really important.
"Yeah, c'mon in the house." He said he lead me into the house. "What's up Dally?"
"It's about Cherry." I said
"What about her?" He said worried
"I'm in love with her.." I said
"What! Dallas I think it's time for you to tell her." He said
"I can't." I said
"Yes, she's going to find out on her own." He said "if you don't tell her first that is."
"Darrel don't you understand. That I'm scared!" I said admitting
"You Dallas Winston scared?" Said Darry, clearly enjoying the fact that I'm admitting that I'm scared. "Scared of what?"
"I'm scared... That she'll reject me.." I said, looking down.
"Dally... If you don't tell her how will she reject you?" He asked
"I'm talking about if I tell her.. And then I tell her about.. About.." I couldn't finish the sentence.
"About what?" Said Darry
"About my feelings for her." I said "that she'll reject me."
"Wow!" Said Darry "I think you should tell her."
"I can't." I said again, looking out the window at her, her blonde hair is so light it shines like gold. Her beautiful bright blue eyes... She's beautiful... I mean I have watched her grow up from since we were three.
"Dallas Winston is in love! Wow!" He said
"Shut up!" I said, still watching Cherry play basketball.
I ran out there to the gang.
"Hey Cherry!" I said, I felt the smile on my lips.. That only Cherry can bring.
"Hey!" She said
"Whose winning?" I asked
"I am." She said
I saw Twobit and elbow Steve in the ribs and Soda do the same to Pony. They saw the smile they knew what it meant and they knew the secret. She didn't. "Shut up." I mouthed
That just made them grin bigger.
