I walked home where Lauren greeted me. "Hey Cherry." She said
"Hi." I said my voice barely a whisper
"What's the matter?" She demanded
"I ran into Dally." I whispered "and I just broke down I couldn't stop it."
"What did he do to you?!" She asked me being angry at Dally
"Nothing he apologized for running into me. He was crying I think his eyes looked it. Then after I walked a little ways..... And then I broke down I couldn't stop it.. I fell down on my knees and started sobbing and crying he ran back to me an held me.." I said telling her what all happened
"Wow." She said "I'm still killing him though."
"No, don't please don't." I said
"You still love him!" She said in disbelief
"Yes I do." I said
"Why?" She asked
"I don't know can we stop talking about this now?" I asked
"Yes." She said "here comes Nick."
"Great." I said
"Hey baby!" Said Nick running to me
"Hey Nick." I said
"Oh no! Dally's here!" Said Lauren
"No..." I whispered "I told him they'd kill him on sight!"
"Hm?" Asked Nick
"Nothing." I said
"Oh, ok.. I'll go get rid of the sorry excuse of a man for you." He said
"Is Cherry there?" Asked Dally
"Yes, and she doesn't want to see you!" Said Nick
"Who are you?! And what's it to you?!" Demanded Dally
"I'm her boyfriend, and part of Tim's gang!" Said Nick
"Cherry doesn't belong here! She belongs with our gang with Darry, Sodapop, Ponyboy, Twobit, Steve, Johnny." Said Dally, he looked around his eyes found me. "Pie.. We miss you we need you!"
"You ripped my heart out." I said closing my eyes
"Pie... They don't just need you... I need you." He said closing his eyes.
"Sure you need her!" Said Nick
"Nick stay out of this!" I said
"No!" He roared
"Yes!" I said
"Fine! I expect you back in in an hour." He said, and stomped in the house.
"What are you doing with that guy Cherry?" Dally asked
"He's something to take the my mind off the pain." I said
"Pain?" Dally asked
"Like I said Dallas you're tearing me apart." I told him
"Cherry... Please... Let me explain." He begged
"No, but I will go back." I said
"Good. I'm sorry I put you in pain... You're not the only one though." He said he looked at me I could tell his face is tear streaked, the under of his eyes are red and puffy.
"I'll be back in moment." I said "don't leave."
"I won't." He said "I'll wait right here."
"Good." I said and went inside.
I got my stuff and came back out.
"Let's go." I said
