Birthdays are such an important part of a person's life. A day which marks the day one was brought into the world. A day which is filled with joy and happiness, all dedicated to yourself. That's exactly how she had felt today.
Checking the time she smiled brightly, 6pm, it was nearly time for her husband to return from work. Unsure what to do or expect today, she sat down on the couch flicking through channels awaiting for her husband's arrival.
Hours had past and there was still no sign of him, confused she checked the time again, 9pm. "He should be here by now..." she mumbled to herself frowning, "Unless he's... but till this late...?"
Grabbing her phone she called him, but was unable to reach him as he didn't pick up. She called again, and he didn't pick up. Biting her lip concerned, she decided to text him.
Yeobo~~ I hope your fine, but will you be coming home soon? I'm getting slightly worried~ please reply soon so I know your okay~
Love you~ xx
This seemed so strange to her. He never missed her birthday, but why now...

"So which one did you say is the one you want princess~?"
"Your making me blush you idiot," she giggled as she jokingly hit his arm. "I want that one~" she pointed towards a diamond studded ring. A gleeful smile spread across her face.
"Alright baby~ Excuse me, could I please have that ring~?"
Walking out the jewellery shop hand in hand his ringtone went off. Checking the screen without another look he put his phone back into his pocket, "Che." He held onto the girl's hand again and began to walk, ignoring the calls. "Who is it? Is it her..?" She looked up at him pouting.
"Mhm, but don't worry about it. Anyways we're here to celebrate your birthday, let's go to a restaurant~!" He grinned widely before rushing her towards a restaurant, laughing.

The smile she held that day soon faded into sadness. Her only family, her only special day was spent all alone...
The man who used to surprise her on her birthday, is now spoiling another.
Ungrateful for her love and kindness, yet in her eyes he is still a perfect man...
