*Shelby's Point Of View*
MagCon is over, so we're all going back home. I've only spent 2 days with the Family but it feels like I've known them forever. It went by so fast. It's been a rough weekend but I got through it.
"Well, this is goodbye. For a while. Who knows when I'll see you again." I said to Shawn. Tears started to form in my eyes. I put my head down to look at the floor. "Hey, don't cry! Let's think of it as "see you soon!" Shawn responded as he pushed my hair back. "I know that we haven't known each other for a long time Shawn but I feel like we have. I need you in my life." I stated, wiping away tears. "Me too but this isn't goodbye forever. I'll see you again. Soon, I promise." He answered.
I wrapped my arms around him and put my head on his shoulder. This is the last Shawn hug for a while. I squeezed tighter. "I love you Shawn." I told him as I pulled away. "I love you too beautiful!" He responded. I grabbed my bags and walked out the door with Shawn behind me.
We got to the lobby and there everyone was. I smiled as they all turned towards Shawn and I. I ran to Matthew and hugged him as tight as possible. "I love you Matthew!" I said, smiling. "I love you too Shelby! Stay safe and hit me up sometime and we'll get together!" Matthew said. I hugged everyone but Taylor and Mack. I walked over to them with my head high. I stood in front of them and noticed their fingers were intertwined. I felt a ball grow in my throat. I pushed it down. "Bye guys. I hope you had fun this weekend." I stated with the fakest smile. Taylor got up and walked towards me. He opened his arms to hug me. I turned around and walked to Shawn.
"Taylor tried to hug me." I whispered to Shawn. "How about a Shawn hug instead?" He asked. "Perfect!" I responded. I put my arms around him and smiled. Shawn flashed Taylor a dirty look. He pulled away and looked at me. He grabbed my hand and said, "Call me when you get home! I'll miss you, a lot." He kissed my cheek. "Sure thing! I miss you already." I kissed his cheek back and felt someone push me. It was Taylor. Surprise, surprise.
I hugged everyone again and grabbed my bag. I waved to Shawn as Carter, Ashley, Cameron, Bailey, and I walked out the door. This is the last time I'm going to see him for a long time. I threw my bag in the car and hopped in. I smiled to Shawn and shut the door.
-At the Airport-
"Are you ready?" I said as I looked at everyone. "Let's go!" Cameron yelled. We walked to Gate 3 and waited for the attendant to take our tickets. "Thank you for your service, I hope you enjoy your ride." She said. We all walked on to the plane and found our seats. I was in between Cameron and Carter. Carter put our bags above us and sat down. I plugged my headphones into my phone and turned on Shawn's cover of, "Say Something." I opened my pictures and started to scroll through them. I took a few pictures with everyone and then there was one. It was Shawn kissing my cheek after he had curled my hair. I smiled and set the picture as my lock screen, Twitter icon, and instagram profile picture. I love this picture so much. I put my head on Carter's shoulder and fell asleep.
-In Florida-
I woke up to Carter shaking my shoulders saying, "We're home!" I stood up and grabbed my bag from Cam. I walked off the plane and into the airport. I rubbed my eyes and heard screams. I opened my eyes and there was over one hundred fans with signs and MagCon merchandise. I tried to smile but I'm so tired, it looked awkward. I waved to the fans and they screamed more. Carter and Cameron ran to them and started taking pictures. Ashley, Bailey, and myself just stood there. One of the fans yelled, "Ashley, can I take a picture with you?" Ashley ran over there and took a picture. Bailey did the same. I slowly walked to the door as a group of 10 girls ran to me. "Are you Shelby Sims?" One of them asked. "Yes! Can I help you with something?" I answered. "We wondering if we could take a picture or pictures with you?" A short one with black hair asked. "Definitely!" I responded. I dropped my bags and opened my arms. The first girl ran to me and hugged me. I did different poses with all of them.
When I finished, everyone was ready. We walked to the cars, waiting to take us home. Bailey and Cameron got in the first car after they said bye. Carter, Ashley, and myself got in the second car.
We got to my house in about 30 minutes. I opened the door and walked to my room. I set my stuff down and walked to my bed. Sitting on my bed was one of Taylor's shirt. I grabbed it and threw it across the room. Thinking about Taylor made me think of MagCon, then, I thought about Shawn. I ran to my phone and dialed his number.
"Hello!" I yelled when he picked up.
"Hey! I'm glad I get to hear your voice again!" He answered .
I felt my face get red. "I miss you!" I responded.
"I miss you too! Call or text me later! Have a good day." Shawn stated.
"Toodles, talk to you later!" I said and then hung up.
I walked back downstairs and Ashley was with Carter in the kitchen. "Food!" I yelled as Carter pulled out a fruit plate. We ate the whole tray and all ate bowls of cereal.
By the time we finished, it was 10:00. "Are you going to stay the night?" I asked Carter and Ashley. "I told Cam I would stay at his house. Thanks so much though. Love you guys!" Ashley said as she walked out the door. "I haven't seen my mom for a while so I'm going to head home. If you need anything, call me. Bye best friend!" Carter stated as he bear hugged me. "Bye Carter! Thank you for everything." I answered. He smiled and shut the door.
I locked the door and walked up stairs to my room. I opened my closet and pulled out a "Pink" long sleeved shirt and some black leggings. I slid out of my clothes and put my pajamas on. I brushed my teeth and let my hair down. I turned on my TV and covered up.
*Next Day*
I woke up at 8:45-ish. Some one was pounding on the door. I rubbed my eyes and jumped out of bed. I ran down the stairs, tripping down the last one of course. I unlocked the door and my jaw dropped.
There stood Shawn Mendes. "Shawn! What are you doing here?" I shouted as I hugged him. "I promised you I'd see you soon, so here I am!" He responded. "I can't believe you're here!" I stated. "Why can't you believe it? I can't live without you!" Shawn said as he closed the door. "I just. I just never thought someone cared about me so much." I answered quietly. "Well I do and I always will." He said.
Then, he picked me up and spun me around. I was laughing and snorted. Shawn stopped spinning, and set me down as he was dying of laughter. I was still hugging him and he still had his arms around my waist. I looked at him and smiled.
And I didn't expect it. He kissed me. He kissed me hard, with passion. I resisted the kiss a little bit. I didn't know if I wanted this. Taylor just cheated on me after I thought I meant something to him.
I pulled away. "Shawn, I can't." I said, letting go of him. "What do you mean?" He said grabbing my hand. "I can't do this. Me. And you. I can't have my heart broken again. I can't think I mean something to you, when I really don't. I can't fall for a guy, who isn't going to catch me. I'm sorry Shawn." I responded, trying to pull away but not letting go.
Shawn just looked at me. I didn't know what to say or do. I just told him that I can't have a relationship with him after everything he just went through with me. I just told him that I couldn't be with him because I'm insecure. I just crushed our friendship. What's wrong with me? I ruin everything. Everyone leaves eventually. But for me, everyone leaves fast.
Shawn grabbed both of my hands and pulled me closer.
"I'm going to catch you. I promise." Shawn said, looking into my eyes. "How do I know you mean it Shawn? How do I know you're not like every other guy?" I responded. "Because. Because I love you." Shawn answered.
I pulled him in my arms and I knew I wasn't going to let go, for a while at least. I began to feel tears swell up. I've never had someone care for me like Shawn.
