Evan walked me to my home room, and right before I went in, he put his arms around my waist and pulled me in close. Looking into his beautiful eyes, all I could think about was how on earth did this all happen. He said something about seeing me at lunch, I couldn't really focus because I was mesmerized by his gorgeous eyes and adorable smile, and then he leaned in and kissed me with his soft lips. He walked off.
Walking into my homeroom class, I sat down at the back of the room. Putting my head on the desk, I tried to sort out some memories; it was starting to come to me.
Freshman year, homecoming. After cheer practice one day, Luke, one of the linebackers for the varsity football team pulled me aside. He pulled me over to "the lockers". These were a set of lockers in the back corner of the school right outside the gym. These were also referred to as "the make-out corner" or the "Get Lucky Lockers". So when senior, varsity linebacker, Luke Sherman led me to "the lockers" I was slightly freaking out. And by that I mean completely freaking out. Luke put one hand on the small of my back and the other hand grabbed mine. He pulled me real close to him and looked at me with his charming brown eyes.
"Has anybody ever told you how beautiful you are, Ali?" he said with a totally sexy smirk, running his hand through his gorgeous brown hair.
"Uh... thanks?" was all I could mumble out.
With a chuckle, Luke said, "Ali, will you go to homecoming with me?"
I began smiling like an idiot as the words stumbled out of my mouth, "Uh... Yeah! Sure! That'd be great!" Being the naive freshman that I was, I had no idea why someone like Luke would want to go to homecoming with me, but there was no way I would turn down an offer like that. I felt Luke's hand that was placed on my back slowly begin to creep lower.
With that sexy smile, Luke said, "Great, maybe next week you could come over to my place and we could talk about the plans."
"Ali? Ali! Are you ok?"
I lifted my head up off the desk and saw Ms. Copper rush over to my desk. Oh right, I had a traumatic head injury and everyone in the whole world had to make sure I was ok. All I really wanted to do was figure out what I missed over the past 10 years.
"Um, yeah, but my head kinda hurts. Can I go to the nurse to lay down?" I mumbled. Ms. Cooper quickly and without a second thought wrote me a pass to the nurse.
I opened the door to the nurse's office, and Mrs. J, the nurse who was probably born around the same time Abraham Lincoln was, immediately stood up with great concern. I told her that my head hurt a little, and she proceeded to perform several exams and tests on me, shinning lights in my eyes, asking me how many fingers she was holding up, she even asked me to count to 7. Finally, she let me lay down.
Back to sorting out my thoughts.
One week and some days later, my mom dropped me off at Luke's house. I told her that of course his parents would be home, but to be honest, I never asked him. My mom already knew his parents, because of football and cheer and stuff, so it wasn't that big of a deal.
Once in his house, Luke led me up to his room, and there I was, freshman Ali, sitting on the bed of one of the most popular seniors ever. I was sitting cross-legged where his pillow, which was laying on the floor, is supposed to be, and he was layed out at the foot of the bed. We began talking about homecoming.
After about five minutes of talk about homecoming, where we would go to dinner, some after-party, stuff like that, Luke sat up. He made his way over to the side of the bed that I was. Sitting with his legs straight out, he grabbed me around the waist and pulled me really close to his body. I've had a few boyfriends before, but never a serious one; I still hadn't had my first kiss. Luke, with one hand still around my waist, put his other hand on my cheek, and I guess I looked really nervous or something, because he started chuckling.
"What's so funny?" I asked with a shaky, almost laughing voice.
"You're a virgin, aren't you? Ah, you're so innocent Ali, it's adorable." he said with that irresistible smile. He pulled me even closer to his body, which I didn't realize was possible because we were already so incredibly close. He leaned in and kissed me. Slowly at first, then with intense passion. I didn't know what the "proper rules" for kissing were, but I guess I was doing ok. Luke seemed to be enjoying himself at least. After a little while, I began to feel uncomfortable. I pulled away and stood up.
"Um... I'll be right back," I said in a sheepish voice. Luke stood up and put his hands on my hips.
"Ali," he chuckled, "Relax, it's ok." He slowly leaned me against the wall. He began kissing me again, slightly more forcefully, but still in a gentle way. Being stuck in between the wall and his extremely strong, gorgeous body, I had no other choice but to go along with it. With our bodies so close together, not leaving an inch of space between us, Luke moved his hands from my hips to the small of my back, then lower down. After kissing for at least two minutes, Luke pulled away, grabbed the bottom of my shirt, and pulled it off of my body. Before I knew it, we-
"Ali? Wake up, your mom is on the phone."
I slowly opened my eyes, and saw Mrs. J holding one of those old corded phones. I slowly stood up and walked toward the phone.
"Hey mom, what's up?" I said in a sleepy voice.
Mom began asking how I was feeling and talking about picking me up and stuff, but all I could think about was that night freshman year. That night was the last time I ever spoke to Luke. He got what he wanted, leaving me with an empty broken heart and no date to homecoming.
