In a small darkened room 10,000 feet under the earth's surface contains one of the most dangerous spies. A female - with auburn brown hair, brown eyes, and who had once been known as Caroline Melling. A young woman who wore an old oversized t-shirt, a pair of grey sweatpants, and pink bunny slippers. Another unknown in the crowd - had been chained to the wall adjacent to the door, she used to be normal, until an event that changed her life.
The chains rattled a bit as the young woman moved; her wrists and ankles were wrapped with silver metal bands, the chains connected to the bands from the wall were just long enough for her to reach the center point of the wall if she needed to. She groaned as she began to awaken from another night of sleeping on the cold hard ground. Her head throbbed with pain and her muscles were stiff as she tried to push herself into an upright sitting position. Once seated upright, she leaned back and exhaled a sigh of relief. The female then opened her eyes and scanned the somewhat familiar room.
The room was cold and dark. It was a four wall square with no windows and only one door. The door was located on the east wall and locked. The walls were bare with peeling wallpaper and the ceiling had only a flickering lightbulb which dangled from an electric cord to act as the light source. The lightbulb's flickering worsened by the hour and may only last another hour until the room becomes completely engulfed in darkness. An object in the center of the room caught the female's attention; a black backpack sat in the center of the room.
The woman stared at the bag with her brown eyes, this thing intrigued her and she wanted to investigate it. She grunted and pulled herself onto her hands and knees, the chains rattling with every movement she made. She then pulled herself across the cold, hard ground to get to the backpack. Once she had been in reach of the bag, the female grabbed it and crawled back to the wall, dragging the bag with her. After getting herself as comfortable as she could, the female slowly pulled the zipper through its closed teeth to open the backpack. She then tipped the bag over and dumped the contents of it out onto the floor in front of her. Three items clanged as the hit the floor after being dumped out from the black bag, the woman then placed the bag to the side as she looked at the three items before her: a brown metal bobby pin, an old, brown leather strap watch with a weird dial on the side, and an ID card.
The female picked up the bobby pin and fiddled around with it and one of the metal bands on her wrists. The chains jingled as she twiddled away at the cuffs with the pin. With a snapping noise, the metal band broke into two halves and dropped to the floor, the chains clanging together as they land. Once her wrist had been freed, she quickly moved onto her other wrist. After freeing her wrists she would move onto her ankles, until she had been completely free of any chains. Free of the restraints, the female dropped the bobby pin and massaged her wrists and ankles, for the chains had left red band marks in their place which stung when rubbed.
The female then looked at the two remaining items: the watch with the strange dial and the ID card. She decided she would deal with the watch in a moment, and picked up the ID card first. It was a photo ID of a woman with dark auburn hair and dark brown eyes. The woman's name was Ashley McAnnie. The woman in the photo resembled the female staring at it, so it was the perfect disguise for her. From now on, she would be known as Ashley McAnnie.
Finally, the auburn haired female addressed the old style wrist watch. The strap was a brown leather band, it was worn but still had its smooth scaled texture. The watch was made with a gold metal coating and a glass cover to protect the hands. The numbers were Roman numerals and the hands were little black pointy sticks, the minute hand being the longer one of the two. It seemed like a normal watch to the female, except for a dial on the side of it. She had not seen one quite like this before and was curious. She strapped the watch onto her left wrist and tightened it so that it wouldn't fall off, the pressure the band applied to her wrist sent a stinging sensation tingle through her arm as she was not completely recovered from being in chains. She twitched her left eye a bit as she winced at the shock.
Taking the ID card with her left hand, the female turned the dial three clicks to the left before pushing it in. Silence filled the room as the second hand counted down the seconds getting closer to a minute. Time seemed to slow to a stop as it reached the minute point. The female let out a grunt thinking that the watch had broken before a bright light flashed through the room, when it was gone so was the female.
