Once Our Hearts Become The One

Yume’s eyes flutter open slowly. Everything in front of her is blurred, but soon, her vision gets clear. Slowly sitting up, she feels a slight pain in her head, so she closes her eyes for a small rest. After getting better, she opens her eyes again, but what in front of her shocks her a lot.

She figures out that she is inside an unfamiliar room and Subaru is sleeping on her lap. Her jaw drops once she realizes that this is Subaru’s room. And she has slept in his room with him by her side.

She quickly covers her mouth to prevent a gasp escape and wake him up. Since he is in asleep, so she has courage to take a closer look on his face.

He sleeps really peacefully on her lap. His eyes are closed firmly. Although she cannot see his beautiful ocean blue eyes, she finds that it is cute to see his long eyelashes. She cannot help but pull out her hands to softly touch his face. Her fingers travel from his forehead to the tip of his nose. She finds that his skin is unexpectedly smooth and soft, and his face is really beautiful. She smiles soothingly when she pulls out some strands of brown hair from his face. He is really charming with his bang covering his forehead, almost touching his eyes. She cannot resist his attraction and softly caress his chocolate brown hair. However, with this small action, she accidentally wakes him up from his peaceful sleep.

“ Huh? “ He slowly opens his eyes with tiredness. Once his eyes meet hers, he suddenly jumps up from his seat, and shouts out loud, “ Yume?! You have woken up?! Are you still having a fever? “ He moves closer to her and checks her temperature by placing his hand on her forehead. Then, he sighs in relief when he finds that she is fine.

Yume blushes when Subaru really says her name. This is the first time he … Wait! No! He has also said her name when he was chasing her, who was sick at that time. She unconsciously smiles lovingly when thinking of this.

“ Hey! Are you daydreaming? “

She looks up at his eyes when feeling him poke at her cheek, and replies with a pout, “ Can’t I daydream? It is rare for you to say my name… “

When Yume says this, Subaru blushes at once, and stutters,  “ W-what…? Have I said you name…? I don’t remember this… “

Yume giggles when seeing him flush, but soon, when she looks at her clothes, her face is stained into crimson red gradually and her arms are immediately put in front of her chest with embarrassment.

“ Why did I change my clothes…? Y-you did i-it…? “ Her face becomes redder, as well as Subaru’s face.

He unconsciously places his hand on the back of his head, and stammers, “ Y-yeah… I changed your clothes… But I did not see anything! I help you to change with a quilt covering your body! And you were sweaty at that time, so I thought that you would get better if you could wear some more comfortable clothes… “

Yume nods slightly after listening to his explanations. He concerned about her, so he tried his best to make her feel comfortable. He is actually considerate to her…

“ H-hey… “

“ Yes? “ Subaru looks at her in confused.

“ Are your words true…? “ After asking this question, Yume covers her face with hands at once.

Subaru gets even confused with her sudden question. “ What words do you mean? “

Yume blushes even redder by observing the color of her ears.

Subaru suddenly realizes something, and he smirks teasingly. He removes her hands from her face, and asks, “ Were you upset when you found that Ako was confessing to me? “

Her cheeks get into a bright red color within a second. She nods when moving her eyes to the side.

Unexpectedly, she was suddenly pulled into a tight embrace from Subaru. She can feel his soft breath near her ears.

“ Yes, it is true… “ He softly whispers into her ear, which makes her blush even more and feel like exploding. “ It is true that I didn’t accept Ako’s feelings… “

Yume suddenly struggles out from his embrace. “ No! I don’t mean this! I actually mean the words you whispered to me when I was laying on your bed! “

Subaru blushes frantically when he hears this. He now remembers, what he had said when he thought that she has slept.

He moved his face closer to hers and pecked on her cheek. He gazed at her sleeping face. He felt that she was painful with the disease, so he decided to comfort her a little bit by telling her something which could not be told when she was awake.

“ Yume… You must recover from the sickness… I still haven’t said ‘ I love you ‘ to you! I still haven’t totally occupied you… and made you become my girlfriend… You must wake up… “

He knows this is a really good chance for him to confess his feelings to her, so he gathers up all his courage and …

Subaru puts his hands on top of hers, which is placing on the bedsheet. Then, he leans in closer to her with hesitation. His eyes are locking on hers, so as Yume’s. They both never remove their gazes from each other. Without any notice, their lips have already come into a really close distance, not exceeding an inch. After they realize, their eyes close slowly and they attempt to move even closer to build a connection between them…

“ Bang! “ The door is suddenly being slapped open. “ Subaru kun~ Are you al… “ Asahi asks with joy, soon, his smile get frozen when he notices the situation, as well as Nozomu and Kanata behind him.

“ Alright…? “

Subaru and Yume separate at once with blushing faces.

“ Why do you come…? “ Subaru asks after standing up. His bang covers his eyes, and a dark aura is surrouding him.

“ S-sorry… I don’t mean to… disturb you to… um… “ Asahi stutters nervously. When he notices the expression of Subaru, fear rises from his spine.

“ Sorry! Really sorry! We wil leave at once! “ They close the door at once and run away quickly.

Subaru sighs with disappointment since his friends just destroyed his plan…

When he is calming down his fury, Yume chuckles near him. He notices and sits back next to her.

“ Sorry… They… “

“ It is fine, Subaru kun~ “ Yume smiles brightly, which makes Subaru’s heart skip a beat.

“ Hey… “ He fiddles his fingers when staring at the ground. In Yume’s eyes, it is really cute when he acts like a girl.

“ Will you want to go out with me in the coming weekend? “

Yume goes blanked when she hears it. She does not believe what she hears… But… she actually hears that!!!

“ S-sure! I would love to go with you! “ Her eyes lighten up and she hugs him excitedly, making them both fall on the bed.

“ S-sorry… “ Yume sits back up with her blushing face.

“ It is fine. “ Subaru sits back with a smile.

“ So let's meet in your dorm at 11:00a.m.?”

“ Okay. “

After sending Yume back to her room, Subaru has decided to do something important on that day...
