Sandstorm x Dustpelt

Sandstorm continued to run through the forest, racing her old pal all the way to the border. Dustpelt was a tad slower, but he continued running with a determined look in his eye. Samdstorm smiled thinking to herself, 'Thats, my old friend I used to know so well. It's just been so hard, ever since I started haging out with Fireheart Dustpelt can't even look me in the eye. For a moment I thought... We might have... Lost are friendship because of it...'

Too lost in her thoughts Sandstorm accidentally ran into a tree. The pressure on her head was enough to make her stop running as her sorounding began to almost seem like they were swirling around her. Through her blurred vision she saw dustpelt's figure. After awhile her vision went back to normal as Dustpelt asked worriedly, "Are you okay! Did you get hurt, and do you need me to fetch the medicine cat?" 

Sandstorm shook her head no and joking shoved Dustpelt's shoulder stating, "Yeah, Yeah. Im fine, already. You dont have to worry." Then getting back to her feat she continued running yelling, "Though I bet I can still reach you to the river!" Dustpelt's eyes lit with amusement and continued running. As Sandstorm ran the image of Dustpelt's worried expression flashed in her mind, and for just a second she thought she coulds see some deeper expression in his gaze. Though to no end could she understand what Dustpelt expression truly mean at the moment as she just continued running. Finally they reached the Riverclan border and came to a stop watching the water in the river flow on by. Dustpelt sat patiently beside her and tried to hold back a remark from loosing. Sandstorm seeing Dustpelt annoyance said nothing, but rose her tail and head proudly and triumphantly in the air. Signing Dustpelt somewhat grudging admitted, "Okay, you win. Why did you want to race me here in the first place?"

Sandstorm answered camly while shrugging her shoulders slightly, "I just wanted to spend some time with my best friend. We haven't talked in awhile, and I was worried that we might have lost are friendship after all these moons."

Dustpelt seemed to be hesitant to respond, but finally admitted, "It's... It's not your fault... I just been really... Rather... Confused lately..."

Turning her head in confusion Sandstorm aked curiously, "Confused about what?"

Dustpelt seemed even more reluctant and didnt reply for awhile while just staring off into the river. Sandstorm nudged Dustpelt jokingly and snapped Dustpelt from his thoughts. Dustpelt slowly continued with a distant look in his eye, "It's just... You have been spending alot of time with that kittypet and... Its almost like... You have a crush on him... or something..."

Sandstorm twitched her tail in annoyance remarking sharply, "Well he isn't as bad as you make him seem, if you just try to get to know him for once! You cant seem to get passed him being a kittypet even after all this time! Can you really tell me your still going to act like some immature apprentice! Why do you care if I hang out with Firestar, it isn't your choice what I do, its MY choice on MY OWN free will!"

Dustpelt sighed and muttered under his breath while just walking away with a defeated look in his eye, "Of course you choose his side... You always choose his side, lately... And you know why Im bothered that your hanging out with him, because I love you sandstorm and can't bear to see you like him instead of me..." Sandstorm froze at this statement, completely shocked by this truth. 

Dustpelt took this silence as rejection and started to walk away with his shoulders slunching down and a tired look in his eye. Sandstorm rushed over to Dustpelt and stood in front of him, stoping him in his tracts, and then stated gently, "I-I never knew you felt that way. I dont know how to feel about that myself yet, but I know I dont want to loose you. You've been my best friend for years now, and I cant leave you." Dustpelt's eyes widen in surprise as Sandstorm continued, "I dont know if I like you yet, but Im sure we can get through this together. Though for now, lets just spend time watching the sun rise." Dustpelt and Sandstorm watched the sun rise while twining eachother's tails.
