Cinderpelt looked around camp making sure everything was safe enough so she could go and gather more chervil roots since she was running out of the herb in her medicine cat's den's supplies. She saw everyone rotating around camp like normal. Cloudtail and Brightheart's kit, Whitekit, who was nearly old enough to become an apprentice was running around and playing with Shrewkit. They both ran chassing a leaf floating in the air, determined to pounce on the leaf as if it was a juicy piece of prey itself.

Cinderpelt laughed slightly in happiness to see the childish optimism and hope sparking from the two rambunctious kits as they ran around camp left and right. Smiling she thought to herself remembering, 'I remember when I was a kit... Just like them I had hopes of becoming the greatest warrior I could be! I trained and played waiting for the moment where I could finally accomplish my dream! And when I got Firestar, or Fireheart at the time, as my mentor I never felt more over joyed!'

Then as quick as a flash a memory suddenly struck her, and her tail and ears flattened as her smile started to fade regretting, 'I... I really did love Firestar... I tried not to, but the longer I spent with him the more I grew to love him... I guess it was my fault for allowing myself to have a crush... I... I was so concentrated on impressing him I followed my heart blindly and I payed the price in the end... Now look at me, yeah Im glad I get a chance to learn to heal my clanmates, but Im still an inconvenience to my clan... I wish I could still hunt and help my clan, but I guess I lost the chance...'

Almost in slight desperation Cinderpelt glanced at Firestar longingly trying not to get too downcasted, but it only made her feel worse. Firestar was sitting beside Sandstorm and gently placed his tail around her shoulder. Sandstorm purred back in reply as she rested her swollen stomach, and placed her head on Firestar's shoulder comfortingly. The constant image of Firestar being with Sandstorm gave Cinderpelt a deep feeling of regret, and knowing Sandstorm was having Firestar's kit only made it worse.

She replayed the heartbreaking memory in her head of when she found out Sandstorm and Fireheart were having kits, 'Sandstorm kept joining border and hunting patrols despite her new and strange lack of energy, and Firestar had to beg her to go to the medicine cat den since Sandstorm felt she was still good enough to do her warrior duties. Firestar and Sandstorm entered Cinderpelt's den greeting her along the way. Sandstorm seemed annoyed slightly, but Firestar didnt realises that since he was to worried about his mate. Seeing the two mates together stang Cinderpelt's heart, but she ignored her feelings and politely greeted the two mates. After Cinderpelt examined Sandstorm she was shocked to find out that Sandstorm was pregnant, and the realisation hurt her so bad she felt like somecat clawed out her heart. Holding back tears Cinderpelt grudgingly smiled hiding her pain and then announced the news to Sandstorm and Fireheart. The two mates were exhilarated and beyong happy at the news so much that they couldn't see Cinderpelt's pain.'

Cinderpelt sighed unable to take it any longer and left camp to collect some Chervil roots without another word. Once far from camp Cinderpelt broke down crying in regret and remorse, unable to hold her feelings in anymore. After awhile of crying Cinderpelt wiped her eyes with her paws and continues to search for any Chervil. She found her paws, oddly enough, leading to the thunderpath that border Thunderclan territory from Shadowclan. Not really caring and feeling almost empty Cinderpelt strolled by the thunderpath. Part of Cinderpelt wanted to just sit on the thunderpath and wait there until she died and joined Starclan, but she pushed away those feelings.

Suddenly between the two Thunderpaths lied a tall green stock of Chervil, catching Cinderpelt's eye. Cinderpelt hesitated, part of her really wanted to swiftly cross the border to get the chervil since it was the only one she could find around here, but another part of her could barely stare at the thunderpath. Taking a deep breath in Cinderpelt looked left and right making sure no cars were coming. After one car drove past Cinderpelt hobbled and limped towards the Chervil as fast as she could. Luckily she reached to the plant just in time, as her tail was nearly a mouse-length from the next passing car. Cinderpelt sighed under her breath and tried to control her fast beating and worried heart beat so she could think more clearly.

Then taking almost a leap of courage (metaphorically not actually) and rushed past the Thunderpath trying to get back to Thunderclan territory again. Halfway through the Thunderpath Cinderpelt felt the road start to vibrate, and horrified she turned to face the derection the sound was coming from to see a giant rad monster speeding towards her. Memories of her accident with her leg flashed in her mind making her have an anxiety attack as she stared at the car in horror. Suddenly she felt a cat grab her by the scruff and before she knew it she was safely across the Thunderpath in Thunderclan territory again. A fimiular voice quickly asked worriedly before Cinderpelt could react or even see who helped her, "Are you alright Cinderpelt?"

Cinderpelt immediately recognized the voice and turned to see that it was her good friend Littlecloud. Smiling slightly trying to hide her worry and sadness Cinderpelt added good naturally while stuttering from shock, "Y-Yeah, I believe Im good. I just got surprised there for a second... Though thanks for helping, and sorry to have worried you."

Littlecloud sighed and purred gently against Cinderpelt supportively while adding sincerely and nearly crying himself, "Im just glad your okay, I dont want to image losing you. I just even want to think of what I'd do without you Cinderpelt, you are more precious to me than you can imagine. You helped me ever since I was an apprentice and always sticked by my side, and I couldnt imagine living in a world without my best friend in it."

Cinderpelt found her face oddly heating up, but tried to ignore it. Though Cinderpelt couldn't help but recall all the times Littlecloud was there for her. Even when Firestar and many others left her Littlecloud was always there for her. Littlecloud suddenly realised how puffy and swollen Cinderpelt's eyes were, and begun to ask worriedly, "Are you sure your okay? Your eyes are really swollen, are you getting sick?"

Cinderpelt avoided Littlecloud's gaze and added hesitantly while slightly lying, "I-Im fine, really, and dont worry Im not sick... Im just going through a bit of a hard time, that's all."

Littlecloud's eyes flashed with a deep understanding and empathy as he added supportively, "Cinderpelt its okay if you dont want to talk about it, but know that no matter what Im here for you." Littlecloud's voice was so comforting Cinderpelt found herself opening up a bit, but before she could say anything she found herself crying again.

Littlecloud stood by Cinderpelt's side and wrapped his tail around her shoulder supportively while adding gently, "Its okay Cinderpelt, Im here for you. Dont be ashamed of crying its not your fault, it's only normal for somecat to cry. Crying or not your still the most kindest cat I know."

Cinderpelt found herself smiling at Littlecloud's words and thanked, "Thanks Littlecloud, honestly I dont know what I'd do without you ethier. Thanks for always being such a supportive friend."

Littlecloud adding kindly, "Its no problem I'll always be glad to help you no matter what, because getting to make you smile makes my day." Cinderpelt amd Littlecloud sat there together with their tails intwined together while they watch the fireflies fly by, just happy to be beside each other. Being beside Littlecloud made Cinderpelt finally, after so long, feel as happy as before her injury.
