Optimistic-
A Levi Ackerman song writing
Left with nothing but empty gas tanks and three swords Levi stop in the trees. It had been days since the final wall; Wall Sina, had fallen. Titan smoke like grey clouds filled the sky. The sky seemed to forever be black from the destruction.
But when he closed his eyes, he saw the city as it once was. Beautiful and peaceful. Nothing has changed. When he closed his eyes he saw her. The girl haunted his dreams now. They'd been partners ages, the friends or people who considered themselves Levi's friends had know and seen the love between them. But that was all gone.
How could he still stand strong still be optimistic about everything now? The titans had swarmed the city and the human population was retreating under ground into the dark. But Levi was left outside the walls.
They searched but couldn't find sign of him. Then he reappeared. Holding a badge with the wings of freedom. Blood coated one palm but Levi could care less. It was her blood, the blood that fueled his anger to the titans now.
The dust began to settle 3 days later. They found his gear and blood. Nothing else. The wall began to crumple as more titans came to devour the remaining humans. So few were left and humanities greatest hope was lost. The sky had begun to get its blue hue back but grey still tinted the atmosphere. Then climbing along the wall was a shorter man. Using the blades he had begun to pull himself up the wall and to safety.
At least he could be optimist about this one thing. About reaching the top of the wall. If he did that he might manage to be closer to her, closer to the sky. But that never happened. His final blade broke and there he hung by one blade handle. He looked down at the titans groaning below.
A sneer covered his face. "Someone shut up these god damn brats."
And then he let go.
But Commander Erwin wasn't going to let humanities strongest go that easily. Levi felt pain in his leg and saw Erwin on the top o the wall, his 3DMG holing them both up.
The titans the ones who had sinned against humanity, he had almost given up to them. And he remember what had been said 'we only fail once we stop fighting.' He had failed. He couldn't stop blaming himself for that. Then he saw her. Standing on the top of the wall with Erwin. A long gash running from her jaw down to her shoulder. It made her beautiful he believed, her strength was beauty.
The wall crumpled fully at the gate, crushing a few titans in its wake. It sent grey dust into the air, turning the sky grey once more. The city, the city that they loved, had fallen. As he was pulled up he closed his eyes. The bloody streets were cleaned and filled with people shopping once more. The houses were no longer destroyed to rubble, but were strong and held happy families. It almost felt like nothing had changed. Maybe, just maybe, he could be optimistic again. He was one top of the wall and holding the girl in his arms. She was real and she was alive.
That was what it took to get humanities strongest to fight for humanity again.
