The Girl

I start to head over to the pizza place, Ma's Pizza, when I get pushed not hard enough for me to fall but enough to make me turn around ready to yell at whoever did that. A girl not much older then me is smiling the biggest smile at me. She had very short hair that was shaved on the sides and curly on top. She had a very low cut black shirt and some ruby skinny jeans. Her makeup was honestly flawless, a bright red lip and brown smokey eye that looked like it should be a night look but she pulled off during the day. I shake my head out of admiring her makeup and remembered that she just pushed me and is now smiling at me like we are long lost best friends.

"Um excuse you, what do you want?" I glare at her. She looked honestly confused and hurt, I felt bad maybe I just look like her friend.

"Oh, well damn, I didn't think I looked that different" her voice sounded distinctly familiar, "it's me J, jeez chica, don't you remember me." I laughed and rolled her eyes. Wow, I feel so stupid, I turn a crimson red and duck my head to hide my face.

"Oh my god, Im so dumb sorry. Wow you look a lot different." She really did, I've only seen her as a guy and, I mean, how does she even bind that good?

J just laughed and started walking again heading to the pizza place too. We both wait in line and order in silence, I haven't really gotten close to her or Zack since we are always in the group and its hard to have one on one conversations like that. We sit down and start to eat, I can tell this going to be really awkward when J is just staring at me like she expects me to start the conversation.

"So-... what are you doing here?" J asked looking around like it's the first time she's seen the place, I could tell it was the uncomfortableness of this interaction.

"Finally had a free day, you?" I smile as kindly as I can to try and eliminate the tension.

"I don't know, bored, everyone was doing stuff so I came here." We finished our meals in silence again. I wished I could just come up with a conversation and get to know her better.

"Hey, look we don't know each other too well so why don't we shop together share some facts. You're in our group now I feel like I should know you better." she patiently waited for me to respond, at least now I know we bother actually want to get to know each other.

"Yes! That sounds great, I've felt bad not really talking to you or Zack." I admit.

We walked around but didn't really talk much, much to my dismay. I really wanted to get to know her a lot better, I mean Zeki had said we would be good friends. Maybe he was wrong. I don't know anymore. Somehow I talked her into giving me a ride home, honestly it didn't take much convincing. Now that we were trapped in a closed space together we had to talk, and surprisingly we did, a lot, about stuff we never talked about before, it would be nice.
