A/N I am new to posting this and like I am pretty scared, and all. But yeah. I hope you like it and all. And now I am just being awkward. Anyway, yeah. It's like a fan fiction and yeah. Read, I guess. I mean if you want. Yeah. Bye xD
CHAPTER ONE YO~
Mia Herondale was a Shadowhunter. Being a Herondale, she had lived almost all of her life in Idris. Away from the Downworlders, cities, everything. After both her parents died, the Clave decided to send her to the New York Institute, since she was a minor, a 17-year-old. Maryse Lightwood was in charge of the Institute, with her husband, Robert Lightwood, who spent almost all of his life in Idris. Blonde hair, like almost all Herondales, blue, icy eyes like those of William Herondale. One could say Isabelle and Mia were sisters, since both of them were beautiful and just as cruel when it came to fighting. But, she had a fear. Water. That was her enemy. Standing at just the mere height of 5'3", she was just the opposite when it came to showing courage.
At the same time, there was a person, named, Gus Blackthorn living in the Institute for the very same reasons. Gus was 18, and was sent to New York when he was 17. Black hair, brown eyes and a charming smile, Gus' looks were angelic, but when it came to fighting, he was ruthless.
The climate was dark, New York hadn't treated Mia well so far. She reached the Institute, in one of the cars the Clave had provided. She inhaled a sharp breath and the driver helped her out. Being old fashioned, she was wearing one of the huge gowns, a hat on her head, gloves and heels, that were pretty tacky.
"Here you are, miss." Announced the driver.
Mia nodded and started walking towards the Institute doors. She was stopped by the driver's yell. "Aren't you going to take your bags?"
Mia being a shy person, turned red and nodded. How could she tell him, that she couldn't carry the bags? She shook her head, as the driver left and looked down at her bags with her hands on her hips. She let out a sigh and looked around for some help, when her eyes fell on a black haired boy. She turned red again and called out. "Excuse me, sir!" She called out softly, her Idris accent clearly showing.
Gus heard someone call out for him and turned around to fix his eyes on Mia. He frowned and walked towards her. Gus' hands were dirty with mud.
Mia cringed looking at his hands and looked up, into his eyes, and stared for a while before snapping out of it, as he talked. Mia shook her head and looked at him. "Sorry?"
"I asked what you wanted." He says with attitude in his voice. "Look blondie, I left my garden work for you, it better be a god reason."
"Yeah. I'm sorry you had to leave your garden work. I just needed help with these bags." She said and looked down at them.
Gus looked down. There were too many bags. "Wait. Are you a Shadowhunter?" He asks since one of her bags were marked with the four C's of the Clave.
She looked up at him and nods. She wasn't much of a talker. He looks at her and raises an eyebrow.
"Okay then. I'll send someone to help with your bags and I'll escort you to Maryse." He says.
She had no idea who Maryse was, but nodded and followed him. He was not gentlemanly, she noticed. He would've offered her, his arm. Instead she locked her hands in front of her stomach and followed wherever he went. She only knew about Robert.
As they entered the library, Gus stopped and looked at Mia. He gave her a little nod. Mia looked at him, and walked to stand beside him. He put a hand on the small of her back, and opened the door for her. Huge stands of mahogany wood, stocked with books. A huge window with blood red curtains, and a gold lining. Mia ducked her head in only to be pushed further into the library by Gus. She squealed and stumbled in. Gus followed her.
Now a great mahogany desk was clear to their eyes. And behind it, leaning over the table was Maryse. Maryse's eyes shot right up to land on Mia. Her lips curled into a smile, and she got up from the chair.
"Hello. I'm Mia. You must be Maryse?" She asks softly.
A/N : This is in bold, because I like it, and it's pretty. Haha. Okay, then. *awkward again* *sigh*
