"this is it," i breathed out while staring at my reflection in the mirror. "i guess it's day one of being smarty-pants kid's friend."
i exited my house and made my way to school. listening to music like all the girls in the kdramas.
i made it to school and headed directly to the library, where i was sure to find jooheon. as expected, i did. funny thing, he was actually using his phone—using his book to block it.
i mentally rolled my eyes and tapped him on the shoulder.
he was a bit taken aback when he saw me.
"o-oh hey," he said.
i sat down as awkward silence absorbed us.
"well?" i finally spoke.
"oh, yeah um, thanks."
i rolled my eyes physically this time.
"can we stop thanking? let's be real friends." i said, getting tired of the recent situation. "do you have friends?"
he laughed. "is that supposed to be an insult?"
"well, i don't watch you all the time to see if you have friends," i chuckled. "i only ever see you in the library." i peeked at his phone and raised a brow. "which is, i discover now, a phony."
jooheon shrugged.
"why?" i asked.
"why do i do this?"
i nodded.
"i don't know."
i exhaled. "an actual reason."
jooheon sighed. "well, haven't you seen the people at this school? did you ever notice the class presidents and top students competing? makes me feel a bit dumb."
"i see your point, but you don't have to cheat. how do you anyway?" i asked.
"my friend, shownu. he's a smart guy," jooheon chuckled. "he's away for a funeral so yeah i couldn't ask him."
"why'd you ask me? i'm dumb lol."
he shrugged. "you seem trustworthy."
"like i said, how come you don't work for your grade? in the end it's all worth it. plus you can carry the pride in your heart, instead of the guilty conscience."
jooheon raised his brows slightly. "for someone who calls herself dumb, that's gonna have me thinking hard."
i laughed. "have you eaten breakfast yet?"
he chewed his bottom lip and smiled sheepishly.
i sighed. "cmon, let's go eat smart kid."
i'm so sorry for not updating for a bit, i think i got food poisoning and i've been throwing up and feeling nauseous for the past 3-4 days ㅠㅠ
