Chapter 34: Another Plan

The three monsters were now at the entrance of the school. Mike stepped over the line like he and Y/N did when they arrived.

"So, what now?" Sulley asked.

"You know, for the first time in my life, I don't really have a plan," Mike admitted.

"You're the great Mike Wazowski. You'll come up with something," Sulley pointed out.

"I think it's time I leave the greatness to other monsters. I'm okay just being okay," Mike said.

"Well, I don't know what to do, either. A lot of people had high hopes for me and I've ruined any chance to be what they want me to be," Y/N replied.

"Well, be the monster that you want to be. Because that's the monster I love," Sulley responded.

Y/N smiled at his words since she told him the same thing. She hugged him and he returned it, not wanting to let her go.

"Thank you, Blue Boy," Y/N thanked.

Sulley and Mike chuckled then they all noticed the bus coming.

"So long, Sull," Mike said, holding a hand.

"So long," Sulley replied, shaking it.

Sulley then looked at Y/N sadly, and held her hands.

"Will I see you again, Y/N?" he wondered.

"Nothing could stop us, so of course you will. I love you," Y/N answered.

"I love you too," Sulley returned.

They kissed then Mike and Y/N got their stuff and went on the bus.

As they rode away, Sulley then decided that he didn't want to part with Y/N, even if they would see each other. And he and Mike became good friends too.

Y/N and Mike sat in their seats, just thinking about what they could do in the future.

"You guys!" Sulley shouted as he almost jumped through their window.

The two screamed then he fell off.

"Whoa!" Sulley exclaimed as he did.

"Stop the bus!" Mike yelled to the driver.

The bus stopped and Mike and Y/N ran to the entrance of it.

"Are you crazy?" Mike asked Sulley.

"I think he is," Y/N answered for him.

"Mike, Y/N, I don't know a single Scarer who can do what you both do. I know, everyone sees us together, they think Y/N and I are the ones running the show, but the truth is, I've been riding both of your coattails since day one! You guys made the deal with Hardscrabble. You took a hopeless team and made them champions. All I did was catch a pig!" Sulley rambled on.

"Technically, we caught the pig," Mike corrected.

"Exactly! And you think you're just okay? And Y/N, you've actually always been the monster you wanted to become and more. You both pulled off the biggest Scare this school has ever seen!" Sulley continued.

"That wasn't us!" Y/N disagreed and Mike shook his head to agree with her.

"That was you both! You think I could have done that without you two? I didn't even bring a pencil on the first day of school. Mike, you're not scary. Not even a little. But you are fearless. You both are," Sulley stated.

Mike and Y/N smiled at his kind words.

"And if Hardscrabble can't see that, then she can just--" Sulley started to say.

"I can just what?" Hardscrabble's voice sounded.

They looked to see Hardscrabble land on the edge of the entrance by one of the statues.

"Careful, Mr. Sullivan. I was just warming up to you. Same with you, Miss M/L/N," she remarked.

"Sorry," Sulley apologized and Y/N hugged his arm.

"Well, lady and gentlemen," Hardscrabble started as she flew to their level, "it seems you made the front page again."

She handed Mike the paper with all three of them being escorted by the CDA with the headline "Freshmen Expelled".

"The three of you did something together that no one has ever done before. You surprised me. Perhaps I should keep an eye out for more surprises like you in my program. But as far as the three of you are concerned there is nothing I can do for you now. Except, perhaps, wish you luck," Hardscrabble explained.

They all just smiled.

"And, Mr. Wazowski, keep surprising people," she requested.

Mike nodded and she flew off. Y/N leaned into Sulley, who put an arm around her. Mike turned the paper around and smiled at the headline on the back.

"You know, there is still one way we can work at a Scare company," Mike pointed out.

He showed it to the lovebirds and they smiled.

"They're always hiring in the mailroom," he continued.
