- Nobody
"Are there ever times where you feel like your chest hurts, and your suffocating...? Like there's no way out of a situation, and you're trapped?" Minghao regretted the question almost immediately, but he couldn't take it back.
"That's a.. strange question. Does it have something to do with what you dreamt of?" Soonyoung asked.
"Yeah." It came out in more of a sigh.
"Do you want to yell me about it?"
"Not really.. But I guess it might help, so I will."
Soonyoung gestured for the younger boy to continue.
Minghao sighed, and started his story.
"When I was about 10 years old, my mother died in car accident with a group of her friends and they were all rushed to the hospital. My mom was announced dead upon arrival. That was when everything turned around and twisted. What was once a happy, and functional family, was twisted inside out. My dad was gone most of the time, and he always came home drunk. He blamed me for the death of his wife. He blamed it all on me. But there was a group of words that I had told him, two actually, that had set him off yelling strings of cuss words at me. It was the worst decision of my life to tell him those words. I knew it was a bad decision, but I felt like he had a right to know. I remember it like yesterday, the memory I had repressed for so long. The memory I tried to forget about, for six years. I tried so hard to forget the memory. And when I finally did, it came back. Almost as if it wanted to remind me of the sin that I am. Like my father just came back to haunt me, to make always remember how much air I waste, and-" He hiccuped. He wasn't crying, he just wasn't breathing while he talked, and then he hiccuped.
"Hao..."
"I want to forget that moment. I want to forget every memory of him." He spoke every word with anger, every word spoken of his father was said with such hatred.
"We could try brain washing. That might erase every memory you have of everything, though."
Minghao laughed slightly at Soonyoung, who pretended to think of ways to forget the memory. "We could do that, but I don't wanna forget you, or Jun... I miss him. He was my bestest friend, and I really miss him." Minghao sighed, looking down at the bed sheets. He looked up at Soonyoung, and he smiled.
"But, I have you now. And you are the greatest friend ever. And.."
"And?"
"And... I love you."
A smile wider than the widest bridge, a smile brighter than the sun itself. Minghao's smile could have cured cancer, and Soonyoung returned the bright smile, laughing as he did.
Then, their lips connected. It just happened. Neither was shocked, even if they didn't know how it happened.
Minghao smiled again, laughing which broke the kiss apart.
"God, I love you." Soonyoung said.
"So I'm God now?" Minghao questioned, the smile still on his face.
"To me, yes." Soonyoung smiled back at him.
"Can I paint your nails?" Minghao asked, already reaching for his nail polish bag, which he kept under the bed.
"Am I gonna be able to stop you?" Soonyoung asked, knowing the answer.
"Nope." Minghao said, already looking for a color. "What color do you want?"
"As long as I can still go in to work later, any color."
"Awesome." Minghao pulled out a dark red colored polish. "I was gonna paint them black, but I think this will be better. Hand."
And the rest of their very early morning went like that. Minghao painting Soonyoung's nails, and they talked about anything.
"Let's do a matte top coat." Minghao said, digging through the bag to find the top coat. He found it, and finished the older boys nails. "Done." A smile found it's way to Soonyoung's face as he saw that Minghao did a good job.
"Okay, I gotta get ready for work now." Soonyoung said, getting off the bed and going to his closet.
Minghao followed behind, looking as well. "Here. Wear this." He said, taking out a pair of black slightly ripped jeans and a t-shirt. "Also, let me do your makeup before you go. It won't take long, i promise."
"Fine. But I swe-"
"I won't go heavy on it."
"Good."
They entered the bathroom, and Soonyoung took a shower while Minghao looked for his makeup kit.
"Why have a never seen you use any of this?" Soonyoung asked once he got out of the shower.
"Because I use it when you leave to go to work. Now get dressed." Minghao answered, taking out the products he wanted to use.
"That's a lot of makeup for 'not heavy'." Soonyoung stated as he sat on the closed lid of the toilet seat.
"It won't be." Minghao smiled as he began to apply the makeup to his best friends face.
"I want a dog." Soonyoung said, suddenly.
"I do too." Minghao replied.
"Let's go adopt one after I get home."
"Soonyoung, we barely have enough money for ourselves." Minghao sighed. "It's done, go look."
"I know, but still." Soonyoung looked in the mirror, making a mental note that there wasn't a thing Minghao was bad at.
"Is there anything you aren't good at?" Soonyoung asked, a small laugh playing after.
"Well, there's cooking, cleaning, not being straight. I could go on, but I won't because you'll be late." Minghao laughed at his own joke, and Soonyoung kissed his cheek before walking out and down the road to the dance studio he worked at.
