 "Disabling the encryption is an executive order, it takes two Alpha Level members." 

"Don't worry, company's coming." Natasha smirked, not looking up from her screen. 

Just as Mina glanced over at glass windows, worrying more about Sam, Steve and James, the sound of a helicopter landing on the helio-pad startled her thoughts. 

The door's swung open and Fury walked in, clad in black leather and a sling. His one good eye came into contact with Mina's form standing by Pierce with a gun trained on him. 

"Ms.Wilson, looks like a bus hit you." Fury stated.

"You look like you got in car accident and was attempted on." Mina scoffed while passing the two and heading straight to Natasha. The council looked at her incredulously but she ignored them, placing her gun away. 

"Did you get my flowers?" Pierce asked, glancing to Fury in astonishment, but hidden well. Fury just glares at him. "I'm glad you're here." 

"Really? Cause I thought you had me killed." Fury rolled his eye. 

Pierce shrugged, a small smile forming."You know how the game works."  

"So why make me the head of S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Fury asked, gravely. His glare hardened. If Mina was sixteen again, she would've been terrified of this man; but now he's like the others. 

"Because you were the best and most ruthless person I'd ever met." Pierce suggested, devilishly smiling at his old 'colleague'. 

"I did what I had to do to protect people." Fury stated, glancing to Mina with a sympathetic eye before hardening his stare once more. 

"Our enemies are your enemies, Nick. Disorder, war. It's just a matter of time before a dirty bomb goes off in Moscow, or an EMP fries Chicago. Diplomacy? Holding action, a band-aid. And you know where I learned that; Bogota." 

Mina rolled her eyes, wanting to sigh loudly but bit her tongue. "You didn't ask, you just did what had to be done. I can bring order to the lives of seven billion people by sacrificing twenty million. It's the next step, Nick, if you have the courage to take it."

"No, I have the courage not to." Fury stated, motioning to the facial retinal scanner. Mina placed her gun once more on Pierce, her face smug at his weakest point but not letting her satisfaction show. 

"You don't think we wiped your clearance form the system?" Pierce chuckled, lively. It seemed nervous but happy at once; as if he wasn't even believing his current position. 

"I know you erased my passwords, probably deleted my retinal scan, but if you wanna stay ahead of me Mr.Secretary ... " Fury removed his patch, the eye looking gray and sightless, mauled and torn. It was a sad sight for Mina gaze upon. " ... You need to keep both eyes open."  

The safeguard was lifted and Natasha happily began to type back away at the computer. A smirk lingered on Mina's face as she watched in fascination as the Red Head worked away at the glass tablets. "You really are smitten'." Pierce chuckled.
