"You know those are bad for you." A lit cigarette was held loosely by my teeth. "I really don't care." Paige sighed and sat next to me.

"I really don't care that you don't care. It's bad for you." A familiar pale hand reached for the cigarette. "I love you, You know that right?" The hand froze. "I would never leave you, I won't die unless you do. That's how much I love you." Paige withdrew her hand and stood up.

"Come on, let's get back to class." I threw my cigarette off the side of the school building. "Aren't you gonna say it back?" I stood up and backed up to the edge of the roof. "Maxine Cross don't you do it, I love you a lot, and if you jump off then I'll never forgive myself. " She slowly inched towards me.

"I love you too." I fell off the roof, feeling the air run through my short hair. My cross necklace melted on my chest and traveled to my back. "The perks of having a 20 story school." I mumbled, the liquid metal that traveled to my back formed into feathery wings.

"Max!" I looked up at Paige and smiled. "Hi, baby!" I suddenly disappeared out of the true world.* I flew upwards and reappeared behind her. My wings quickly formed back into a silver cross.

"Don't do that!" She slapped my shoulder hard. "Ouch, alright, I'm sorry." The loud bell of my school filled my ears. "Come on, let's get to class." She grabbed my hand and pulled me to the door.

"I love you."

"Love you too..."
