Chapter 3

3 years passed and everything was fine . Uncle Newt published another edition of his book , Aunt Tina became the head of the Auror department , and Dad's bakery became successful , I also manage to graduate grade school , my parents wanted me to attend no-maj school before being accepted to a wizarding school .

Today's Sunday and I've been reading a lot more because it's vacation . Mom's cleaning the house with magic she's trying to be quiet so No-Majs or Muggles , apparently that's what they call non-magic folks here in Britain , won't be able to hear her doing magic .

Dad's in his bakery managing it , he's usually not around anymore since he's very busy with work . It's really getting boring without dad , I'm just reading every book I can get my hands on , and mom is usually busy with cleaning , cooking , and more mother stuff .

I was sitting in the desk in my room reading my favorite book when someone knock on the door .
"What is it , Mom??" I asked
"Something came you might want to look at it " she said
I stood up and opened the door . I saw mom , she was holding an envelope with a purple wax seal in it .
"It's my Hogwarts Letter!!" I said in a shock voice . Mom handed it to me and I ran to my bed and opened it , she followed me .

Dear Ms . Kowalski ,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment .
Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.

I was in total shock , I can't believe that i'm actually going to Hogwarts . Is this real?? Am I dreaming ?? It's just too good to be true .
"It's real , Sweetie " I looked at mom and she smiled at me . "We are so proud of you , Jazz" she said and she hugged me , I hugged her back .
"Does Dad know anything about this?? "
"Nope , Still doesn't . I want us to surprise him when he comes home . But I'm sure he'll be so proud " she stood up and left my room . I was left here still staring at the letter with disbelief . I'm so excited to see Hogwarts . What would it be like ?? I can't wait to see it. It's so amazing how I'm the first in our family to see Hogwarts because mom attended Ilvermorny , and dad , he's a muggle so he doesn't know anything about wizarding schools.

I ran downstairs quickly . I still have my letter with me , I don't want to let go of it . I went to look for mom , I headed to the kitchen and saw her cooking our lunch .
"Does Uncle Newt and Aunt Tina know??" I said quickly .
"Don't worry , Sweetie . I'll write to them asking if Nathan and Persephonie received their letters . And I'll tell them you got your letter . Does that sound OK??" She explained
"Thanks mom"
I was about to go back up when I suddenly realized what mom said . Why write to them if their house is near by??
"It's easier that way , Sweetie "
Mom does have a point .

I went back upstairs and placed my hogwarts letter next to me . I grabbed my book and started reading again , glancing at the letter every now and then just admiring how beautiful it was .

After a few minutes mom called me for dinner she prepared baked potatoes , steak , and some pudding for dessert . She also informed me that Uncle Newt and Aunt Tina's reply just came a few minutes ago . They said they're happy for me , Persephonie and Nathan also got their Hogwarts Letters , they're also going to come with us when I buy my school supplies . I'm really looking forward to start my classes .

When it was 8:00pm mom told me dad was home . I grabbed my Hogwarts letter which was in my desk and rush down to the living room and show it to dad .
"Dad , look !! I've got my letter" i held up the letter to show it to him .
"Wow!! " he knelt down in front of me and looked at the letter . We had the same reaction when we first saw the letter.  "I'm so proud of you , Sweetie . Are you excited to go to Hogwarts??" He asked .
"Yes " I said while nodding .
He sat in the chair and I sat next to him .
"When did she got it, Honey?" He asked mom
"Just this morning . A few hours after you left " she said , "you should've seen her reaction when she got it " Mom giggled and Dad looked at me with a big smile .
"Does Newt and Tina know??"
"Yeah . I let them know , they said they're going to help us get Jazz's stuff . You see , Nathan and Persephonie got there's too "
"That's great "
"They said we'll buy our things  tomorrow " I told him in an excited voice .

Later that night I had troubles going to sleep because I was still shocked that my letter came . I can't wait to buy my school supplies tomorrow . I'm very excited .

I woke up early in the morning ,half pass 5 to be exact , because of my excitement . I didn't bother fixing myself and ran to mom and dad's room to wake them up so we can start the day . I opened the door and turned on  the lights . Mom and Dad were sleeping peacefully . I walked over to mom and whispered in her ear .
"Mom , come on . Get up it's time to start the day"
She opened her eyes and faced me .
"What time is it , Sweetie??" She asked in a sleepy voice .
"Half pass 5 " I told her
"It's too early . Go back to sleep , OK . You need it " she told me
"But I can't mom , what should I do ??"
"Read or something . Open the lights in your room and read "
She went back to sleep and I went to my room and read checking in on mom and dad every 5 minutes or so just to see if they're awake .

After 30 minutes I went to wake up dad , maybe he'll wake up now .
"Dad , it's already 6:00 it's time to wake up" I whispered in his ear . He woke up and looked at me .
"I think someone's excited to buy their school supplies " he said
I laughed and nodded . He woke up mom and we started to clean up , and get ready to buy my supplies .

We went to Uncle Newt and Aunt Tina's house to meet up with them . We went to a place called Leaky Cauldron it looks like an old inn . There are so many old wizards in this place eating , there are also young wizards who I guess are going to Hogwarts as well .
"Mom , Why are we here??" I asked .
Uncle Newt heard me and said that this is the entrance to diagon alley , the place where wizards buy their supplies here in Britain .

We went to the back of the inn , which has this big brick wall . Uncle Newt tapped four of the bricks with his  wand and the bricks suddenly moves and made an opening in front of us . A long alleyway can be seen from the opening . Wherever I look all I can see are shops like , Madam Malkin's Robes  for All Occasions , Quality Quidditch Supplies , Magical Menagerie and Flourish and Blotts . Everything just feels magical .

We went to buy everything that's on the list , like cauldrons , quills , parchment , robes , and books , Uncle Newt's book was one of the needed for first years.  I also got my own wand , 12 1/2 inches . Rosewood . Dragon Heartstring . Springy . I was extremely happy. We ate some ice cream at Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor  after we bought all of our supplies. The only bad thing I experience this day is reading people's minds . I have this habit of reading someone's mind if I don't know who they are. Most of them are thinking of positive things , I didn't read their story cause I want to give them privacy since I don't know them yet , but 2 or 3 people are too judgemental for me , they tend to judge people a lot from their physical appearance , they weren't judging me but they do judge others and I didn't like it .

We went home at night . Mom prepared Dinner and after that I went to bed peacefully , very excited to start my life at Hogwarts .
