Devin Is smarter than I give him credit for.
Luckily, he decided not to tell anybody about the encounter, and the office forgot to check the camera recordings. Although he did give me a malicious glare when he saw me in the hallway. You know, one of those looks that say: I will murder you and then feed you to a million sharks and then boil you alive... IN THAT ORDER!
I tried to avoid him for the rest of the day, but he was hellbent on revenge. He would trip me in the halls, knock my stuff onto the ground, and even rip up any of my homework that he got his hands on.
I managed to survive the day, but as we were going out to the buses, he stopped me again. This time he was waiting with his goons.
"Okay Jason, how would you like a rematch?" he leered at me. I ignored him. After all, my name isn't Jason. Willow and I tried to skirt past him, but he reached out and grabbed us. Willow struggled against his grip.
I had finally had enough. "Let us go, asshat. Unless you're too cowardly to fight honestly?" I cocked an eyebrow, feeling a surge of confidence. He growled and released us. Willow backed up to watch. Devin's underlings formed a ring around us.
He roared savagely and charged me. I panicked and lunged to the side, but he grabbed me and threw me to the ground. I struggled to my feet and tried to remember how to breathe. Before I could make my move, he grabbed and threw me again. The taste of blood filled my mouth.
"You... Bastard..." I groaned. I picked myself up off the ground and flung myself at him. he knocked me away easily.
I lied there, coughing. I had no chance of winning! He would just beat me up more if I tried to resist. I growled to myself, standing up. I knew it was crazy to continue. But I felt stronger. I felt as if I could take on the world. My whole demeanor changed in an instant. I felt my own blood drip down my scraped arms, and I smiled. My next words sounded like two people were speaking simultaneously.
"Are you finished? Or do we have to teach you some manners?"
