Betty and Archie had arrived at the party to see hundreds of people there. They both walked in, not knowing what to say to each other. Betty finally spoke up. "I'm going to go get some punch." Betty walked away just as Veronica walked up. "Hey Ve-" Veronica cut him off. "What were you doing with Betty?" Archie sighed. "I just walked her over here, is that a problem?" Veronica rolled her eyes and sarcastically laughed. "Is that a problem? Yes Archie, it is because me and Betty aren't talking right now which means, my boyfriend shouldn't be talking to her right now until or if I ever become friends with her again." Archie was taken aback. "So I can't talk to Betty until her or you get over your stupid little fight?" Veronica nodded her head. " Listen V, I'm not going to stop talking to Betty just because yo-" Veronica rolled her eyes and walked away from Archie, leaving him all alone.

Betty walked over to the drink table, trying to find something that wasn't 100% alcohol, which she failed at doing. Instead, she grabbed a piece of gum from her back pocket and acted as if it was something to eat. She sat at the table, waiting for Veronica to leave Archie, if she would. To be honest, Betty missed Veronica more than anything, and all she wanted was to hug V and have her tell Betty everything was going to be all right, but Betty knew that that couldn't happen, so instead she used to knowledge of Polly's safety to comfort her on lonely nights.
Betty saw Veronica and Archie get into a fight, probably about Betty, and then Veronica storm off. Betty felt bad that she might have been the cause of that, but her attention was taken off the topic once she saw Chuck walk up to her. "Betty, long time no see." She rolled her eyes. "We go to the same school, I see you more than I want to." Chuck chuckled (hehe see what I did there) and grabbed a cup, pouring one of the drinks in it. "The nights not over Betty Cooper, you might find me to your advantage later." Chuck whispered, as Betty looked at him in disgust and walked over to Archie. "Hey Archie, they only have alcoholic drinks over at the stand so I didn't grab any. You feeling okay?" Archie looked angry and sad and dangerous all at the same time. "You know what Betty? Let's let loose. We're supposed to be having fun aren't we? Let's go get a drink!" Archie ran over to the table grabbing and chugging a drink while the other guys cheered him on and Betty laid low in the back.

Archie walked over to Betty 10 minutes later, on the verge of drunk. They were at the top of the stairs, silently talking in the corner. "Betty, what are you doing? Come on, have a drink."
"Archie it's okay, I don't want one. And one of us has to be sober enough to walk you home." Archie laughed and kind of agreed. "Yes but, I think you'll have a much better time if you just take the dr-" Archie and Betty heard the door slam open and peeked out of their corner to see who it was.

There, in the flesh, was the Southside serpents. Jughead was also there, invitation in one hand, Toni in the other. He kissed her as they all walked in, completely ignoring everyone. Betty, who had seen everything, grabbed the drink from Archie and chugged it in one go as he sat there, awestruck.
