Religion is something that has large control on some aspects stated before. Without going in depth with every single individual religion, we're going to speak broadly.
As George Carlin once said, "Religion is bullshit." Whether you're Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, Jewish, or any other religious orientation, your religion has holes. In some case major holes that aren't really mentioned or even looked at.
When speaking broadly about religion, it's hard to find a good example that includes everyone, so we don't have a good example to look at.
What we can look at, however, is the history of most religions. Most if not all religions are a mere shadow of what they once were or should have been.
To conclude, religion only serves a purpose to those who practice it. To an atheist or nihilist this is already obvious.
(To avoid the conflict with the person that didn't take the recommendation and is now fired up to argue about this, I'm not preaching on how you should live your life. This entire work is just a written form of how a hypocritical nihilist views these topics. If you're still angry about this, feel free to message me and we can talk it out peacefully.)
