dear mom
to the bravest, strong minded, most inspirational woman in my life.
to the mom who sits up with me during long, hard nights because i just need someone to calm me down
to the mom who fights for nothing but her family's happiness
to the mom who could've given up all hope
to the mom who could've thrown in the towel
to the mom who understands me, when i don't even understand me
to the mom who is the biggest hippie on earth
to the mom who held headphones playing bob marley against her belly while i was in the womb so i could come out as a hippie (it worked)
to the mom who lets me be my own person, who lets me express my own self and my own opinions
but most importantly
to the mom who never gave up on me, because we all know damn well i was a hard child to raise
but because you believed i had potential in me
because you felt i was special
i have become the independent young woman i am today
confident, hardworking, and passionate
to the best mom on the freaking planet
